I used a similar one on my champ car build for the rear brake handle. This gave me two braking options - a 4-wheel hydraulic brake system for the street and a two-wheel rear mechanical brake for the track.

I asked the same question about its origin and folks identified it as a '41 Chevy truck.
    No?

I must say, I thought it was a rather elegant looking piece and fit the vibe of my car perfectly.

is there a part number on it?

and can you make the pictures full size so we can see them all without having to click them?

sure looks like the Chevy lever he pictured, with a different bottom.

I’ve got a very similar lever packed away that I was told originated on a 28 Chevy.

Chevy truck. I just made one into a shifter for a customer.

It will have a 7-digit number on it.

it's probably pretty old then, the later ones were used only on the SM420 transmission, which has the base that you see most often.

    Perhaps late 20s-mid 30s cars?

It is definitely 30's vintage GM. Had a '36 Pontiac with a similar one. Don't remember what the ratchet end looked like. My guess is that is the feature that will differ between makes.
