Yes, I know but sometimes, it's all about the lighting.

The added yellow pinstripe looks cool!

Looks like they painted the edge yellow,
and then painted a black line inside...?
Flame layout is "exactly the same"...
    COOL!

    Attaboy @EzraB !
Indeed, that is some fine examples of very kick *** artwork, stick with it kid, you have talent and style, and are deeply infected with the gear head mindset!
    Most impressive indeed!
    Thanks from Dennis.

    1959 Cadillac El Camino

    Hello,

One day I was driving around to see some hot rod shops. Most old shops were closed, so I started the trip home. When I saw a garage door open and a tail fin was sticking out. It was a 1958 Cadillac ice green color tail of a sedan. The traffic was single lane and was heavy for the time, due to it being close to noon and lunch hour. So, I took some fast moving car photos and went home.
    upload_2026-1-9_3-27-11.png
It has stuck with me all of these years later in my files. Every time I see the fin, I want to finish it as a custom sedan, but then I wanted a bubble top sedan version and that was difficult to draw. So, it sits waiting for me to get busy one day. On the rough draft of each Cadillac artwork, the fin was not as distinctive enough. Yes, Cadillac fins do stick out, but I wanted one that really stuck out and said... "Cadillac..."

In the meantime, I found a 1959 Cadillac Sedan art that looked familiar and proceeded to cut off the top. But, then again, a cut off top is now a convertible and those are another styling design for my purpose of a custom Cadillac.

    Jnaki

Then I saw a 1959 El Camino going down the drag strip. I actually wanted one, 4 speed, 335 hp 348 motor, but that was out of the question since my brother just bought his 280 hp 348 Impala. He had the money and I had none… AAWWW.

So, those ideas stuck, but in my art files, a 1959 Cadillac sat waiting for some custom addons or custom designs to make it worthwhile…YRMV The fins called out and it needed to be on an El Camino body style.

Do folks who drive 1959 Cadillac sedans or convertibles actually like El Camino versions? YIKES!
