Fifteen years ago, @hotrod8 posted the following link and the information seems to be exactly what I need for my '48. Unfortunately, he hasn't been on here since 2013 and the link is to a Photobucket ad. Does anyone know anything about this? I want to leave the closed driveline in the car but update the brakes, inexpensively. Calling @Fogger, @kentuckys***, @chaddilac, @Airborne34. Did any of you who replied to the thread do anything with the information.
I had to go back and look that up. I had a 34 5W at the time and was looking for brake options. I had collected the parts from my local Pick A Part but went a different route. I scored the entire 1940 Ford Brake system that were cast offs from a restored car. Sorry couldn’t help.
Why don't you consider using the Boling Lincoln 1.75 rear backing plates with your stock drums and hubs. Gives you more stopping power and is a bolt on. Loaded backing plates List $575, my price $518 plus the ride. This may be more than you want to spend but I've sold quite a few rear pairs of 1.75 backing plates and the customers have been satisfied with the upgrade.
I'd like to thank everyone who replied to my post and messaged me with information, especially @RICH B who had actually saved all 28 pictures complete with captions and emailed them to me. It really is a fairly simple upgrade, I can do it with the parts and material I have on hand, and it will save me from having to install the CE parallel spring set-up and a 9 inch.
https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/brake-update-for-banjo.433758/ @RICH B posted the pictures on this thread. You will need to use a computer to see the information about the photos as the information didn't show on my phone.
All the pix show up on my phone, but not the information related to the pix. On a computer, when you select a photo, information related to that photo shows up in the lower left hand area. Things like what to cut and how much, etc.
Mark, if you hover your mouse over a thumbnail image, it will bring up some information in the lower left hand quadrant of your monitor like when you hover over someone's avatar and it shows their member number. The first thumbnail shows "attachments/1-cut-patterns-for bolt-holes-put-12in-hole-dead-center-jpg.6613053/ You have to use your imagination to figure some of it out. The "12in" -hole-dead-center from above I believe means 1/2 inch hole. Was it you that blew up the images? Thanks!
I went back and typed the OP's words by the pictures for the phone users. Not my tech, not my words; but it is pretty evident what was done.
