    Know the feeling!
Gary Jones had one in similar colours to that one, but don't think it was that low.

Here's our '31. Chopped 5". It's on a '28 frame that was lengthened 5" and then widened/boxed (from top to bottom) with 2 X 2 square tubing for strength and to make it look thicker. 383 SBC, Hedman S-10 fenderwell exit headers with Super T10 4-speed and '86 Mustang 8.8 rear /4.33 gears (standard width). Old car is a handful.

Truck is driving. Needs window gl***, bugs worked out and interior courtesy of friends south of the border.

Any Model A without the belly ****on, Wanna bee, '32 rad shell. Are the owners with '32 rad shells on their Model A's ashamed of their cars? Personally, I really like '28, '29 rad shells.

    Agreed.

I like Model As with T grills though. Theres a green 29 coupe from the 60s with a T shell and it is *****in.

I like '30-'31 shells but mine has a '32 pickup shell with '34 stainless trim. Enough make it a little different and MAYBE what a rodder would have done back in the day. IMG_0430.jpeg

I did the same thing on my '31 Slantwindow Fordor-turned Sedan Delivery...'32 pickup shell with '34 pickup stainless trim.

Just a thought about this, questioning just why the '32 is overwhelmingly chosen for hot rods. I really like '32 shells on Model A hot rods, but really don't know why virtually all cars being built choose them over a nice Model A shell. Is it because of the place the '32 has in the world of elite hot rods, the way it just fits so nice, the fact that they can be painted body color (but often aren’t) or just because there is a perception that this is how it is done? I have never looked at a car and said that I wish it didn't have a '32 shell, but when I see a car that's done right with a Model A shell it definitely stands out.

When guys started using flatheads in Model As, there were no custom rad shops, so they had to use the stock 32 rad which required the 32 rad shell. To day you can get a 32 rad made to fit a Model A rad shell, but unfortunately the tradition continued.
