I picked up a drag car from the late 50s called the Screaming Banshee that I want to bring back to an original condition. Not restored but original. It was built in California and raced around the country. The reason I am posting is that I need help identifying some of the parts I need and maybe finding some. Also I am interested in tracking down more history of the car pictures, articles (I have 2 magazine articles now), stories and anything else that might be relevant to the car. This is a video that has a lot of information on the car.

The things I need help with now. Look at them in the pictures.
The radiator. Looks to be 14” wide. About 23” or 24” tall and 3” thick these are approximate sizes.
Gas tank. About 23” wide 35” long
    Master cylinder from picture.
can anyone identify the pedal ***embly?
I am also looking for a B&M hydrostick for an Oldsmobile 394.
I am also in the market for a blower set up to fit a Oldsmobile 394

Master cylinders look like 40-48 Ford

The rest is going to take a little more memory or searching...

WOW - that ch***is looks awesome, especially for its era. Way advanced for its time with lots of thoughtful detail. Good luck with your restoration.

Sorry. Not really. This thing is cool! Did you bid on any of the other cars?

Yes I bought what was there. I tried to buy the whole collection 6 months earlier but he wanted all the money and then some.

  14. As I recall, it brought less than the zero turn mower, it was just a long way away. Very glad you are turning your attention to it and sharing it with us all.

Checked the price it sold for, ridiculous deal depending on what all came with it.

Love the car, I was also watching this auction, glad it ended up with someone who is going to restore it exactly as it was built.

That radiator looks so familiar to me. I haven't been able to place it yet, but if I do I will post pictures.

No idea on that gas tank. I would ***ume the filler neck was shortened, I can't think of anything that could use that tank with that short filler neck originally.

There is a long story behind that body and the guy who produced it in the US. I would love to get another body for a future project. If you watch the video I attached in the post it will tell you the history of the body.

Tractor? That makes sense because of the width.

Such a cool piece. I’ll bet that thing was a handful back in the day, especially with the tire technology in that time frame. Good luck with your research and I’ll be following along.
