That could be a pretty valuable Caddy!
I don't know how many dimes were used, but in 1962 they were 90% silver...and today those 90% silver dimes are worth over $6.00 each...a roll of 50 is $300.00.

  4. None of the dimes were silver, the coinage was added to the Cadillac in 2015. The dimes were placed above the doors on each side.

That does not make me feel any better. My first car was a 62 Cadillac Fleetwood limousine. So they have a special place in my heart.

Maybe you should buy it and restore it? I suspect maybe the paint was not in "mint" shape before it turned into a rolling coin purse.

Looking closer, that's not just a bunch of coins glued on.
There are probably hundreds or thousands of precisely cut coins to make it all work...a tremendous amount of work.

Tired of spending hours cleaning tarnish from precious metals and deep inlaid patterns? Just dip it in some Tarn-X, it safely removes tarnish from Sterling, silverplate, copper, br*** and gold.

Loved that place. After being beat over the head with road signs advertizing it, we decided we needed to stop. Spent a few hours checking it out.

  18. Thats what the missus and i did, then spent the night at the motel next door. Next day "Wall Drug Store" with their famous 1cent coffee. I think it was the drug store that had all the old fire trucks with the signs along the freeway through the whole state

Fortunately, I live in sunny Arizona, where I can go out and stare at the sun for a while and get this picture out of my mind.

Anthony will drive anything as long as it's dark, on a deserted road, with a shopping bag helmet on.:D

(he'll be on me like a cheap suit in the morning, love Ya Anthony):)

At one of our Snowmobile trail stops the tavern has the bar top with coins set and covered with clear epoxy? and that is pretty Kool IMO and it's held up for years, hoping I can get there this year. Got the sleds ready, plenty of snow, trails good, me not so much. Coined Caddy, "Different strokes for different folks" applies.

So you’re saying that the person responsible for the Caddy should mix up a huge batch of clear epoxy and pour it over the whole thing? Maybe before it cures he should also dig a BIG hole and push it in…

I posted this pic the other day in the “traditional pics that need no explanation” thread but realize now that it fits better here. Saw it in the back of an old early 50’s Hop Up little book in the section where readers would send in pics of their projects. It made me cringe to think that someone would do this to a Willys coupe. 28. This shouldn’t happen to a Willys coupe, it really shouldn’t.
