Hot Rods What happened to George Poteet's cars?

    Just wonderin' what happened to George's hot rods, I know he had a bunch of real nice cars. Anybody know anything?

    From what I gathered / remember, the family kept a few, a few more went to museums, especially the land speed cars and others that were "historically significant". The rest were auctioned, I think primarily through Me***.

    Im pretty sure hotrodderhaag who is a member of the HAMB has one.

    There is a guy named Chuck in Yucaipa,Ca that has a full fendered 32 Coupe he says was George's. Sorry no pics.

    He apparently knew the end way near. He liquidated just about everything before he p***ed from what I gather. I talked to him at a bunch of car shows over 20 years or so. Car shows haven't been the same.

    Any chance his Speed Demon car will be raced by someone else, or has it been retired?

    I believe the newest Speed Demon was wrecked at Bonneville last August. Don't know if it has a future.

    The older versions are at Speedway in Lincoln, as noted above.

    The one that was crashed was a brand new car (not driven by George). I don't know if he set them up with an endowment for the team or not. I hope that crash wasn't the end of the Speed Demon team.

    Last time I saw the Sniper it was in the ba*****t vault of the Peterson Museum In LosAngeles.

    the driver killed in Speed Demon was 60y/o Chris Raschke
