A small group of Connecticut Street Rod ***ociation members are heading to California the last week of the month. We spend the week going to shops and visiting with other Hot Rodders ending the week at the Fairplex. I'm looking for additional places to visit while we are in the area. We do the usual stuff Donut derelicts, Luckys, Stokers, So Cal, Kennedy brothers etc. Any other locations/ideas? If private visits please send me a PM.

  2. Nice- if you are able, please post some pictures and commentary for those of us for whom this remains on their bucket list.

Have fun! Any building or restaurant that Bobby Green has restored is worth a visit.

I made a quick trip down I5 last year for the 75th GNRS and squeezed in a couple of places I hadn't done before. The Nethercutt and Lions Museums were both worthwhile, especially the Lions. Luc, Marcel's has an open House, Bobby Walden, Veazy Bros. I think I'll wait until Fathers Day for my next trip and Galpin is on my list if I find out that they are open to visitors.

    Hello,

I have not been back to the Lions Dragstrip Museum since the large expansion in 2019. At the time, the new displays were amazing and outstanding to look at the complete displays. The drag racing cars were the ones we all grew up watching and enjoying the runs down the dragstrip.

As I was exploring the new displays, I noticed a new wing being worked on attached to another section of the museum. I was told it was a drag boat wing with murals and photos just starting. So, there have been photos of the museum online, but none show the new wing and latest displays.

It is a huge part of So Cal drag racing history and is a "not to miss" place to spend a morning or afternoon watching the displays come to life. Even the gl*** display cases have detailed history for those that were there and can remember those moments. YRMV

So, instead of typing in, go see "Lions Dragstrip Museum" if you have photos of the new wing and other Lion's Dragstrip Museum displays not shown on the HAMB or other internet photos, post them to draw us back into real So Cal history. THANKS...
