I've never seen one marked for taxi cab use, that's pretty interesting. I wonder how many plies it has.
If you follow Coldwar Motors on YouTube, he regularly has a 'cl***ic tire' segment and shows off one of the crusty old tires in his collection. They'll clean it up and mount it on a suitable wheel with an era correct hubcap.

I still have the original spare mounted on my 91 S-10.... 14" I believe. Never been on the ground. (It's so cracked/dried-out and weathered I'm afraid it would shatter if I dropped it !)
    Thank the Lord for Fix-a-Flat......

I actually got rid of a fair number of cool old tires this past summer. None were NOS and a lot of them were singles or a pair, not enough to make a good set of rollers, I needed the space.

Kind of a shame, but what would I do with them? Most of my project cars have pretty neat roller tires on them but when they get built they get replaced with run-able ones. If I had endless storage space I'd keep some of them as some kind of display.

Probably the coolest tires I have are these. I never bothered to get the bike they're on running, I feel like these tires would come apart if I tried to ride it.

I had these kicking around since the sixties. I sold them a couple of years ago. They are recap slicks made by a company called H&H. slks 2.JPG slks 6.JPG slks 6.JPG
