Gathering all the parts to rehoop a set of 16” ford 5x5.5 steelies. Wondering if the OBS f250/f350 16x7 steelies had a 13.625 ID? Or does anyone know of another donor steel rim with these specs? Pic for attention: white 16”next to black 15” Thanks in advance

Good question. I do know the big truck wheels will be thicker/heavier

Standard ID for aftermarket 16 inch shells is 13.500. Might be a 16” OEM out there that would work, if you are heading to the junkyard maybe look at the 97-03 f-150 / expedition or some Dodge Caravan.

Scnick, how wide is that white wheel? What's it from?

It’s a 16x5 wheel. Not sure what it originally came off of.

Thank you, that’s very helpful info. Maybe mine is 13.50” and I just eyeballed my tape measure incorrectly while inside the rim. I’ll go measure again tonight.

Be aware that the Hey shells might not be safety bead if that matters to you. I’d ask anyway.

This subject has discussed many times on the HAMB, there hasn’t been a single thread that identified a late model outer hoop with the correct 13.625” center. I personally searched a few local salvage yards with no success, I’ve also talked with a bunch of the members here and they all used older hoops to get the correct inside diameter. Ford used 16” wheels up until the mid 60’s that used the correct inside diameter, I’m sure many other companies used similar hoops, they are just getting harder to find.
I had a Ford wheel exactly like your 16” wheel that cut the center out of to install a 40’s Ford style center in.

If you cannot get suitable hoops another option would be to get your wheels banded.
