Some day, someone will post something that Moriarity doesn't have. And the world will never be the same.

I'm 46 years old. The town I grew up in was about 2,500 people and we graduated about 65 in my cl***....the libraries from k-12 carried Hot Rod, Car Craft, and Motor Trend for us gear heads...But one of my Senior book reports was on an obscure (to me) book called "Hot Rod" (the black and purple edition) by Henry Gregor Felsen that I randomly found in the high school library....I was a muscle car guy (still am) but that book meant and still means so much to me....thanks for the flashback, I have a new goal to buy one tomorrow on my spare time at work.

If I remember right, the one guy had a car that was like the owner. "Made whole lot of noise but not much performance to back it up", or something like that...

Somewhere I'd seen that those green bubbles were fixable. I did a cursory search but no luck...yet;)

I love stuff like that. Anything from the pre-plastic era. Back when cars weren't built to be thrown away in 10 to 15 years.

Seafair always a big deal in Seattle. Big parade with inebriated Seafair Pirates scaring kids, parties all over town, and of course the "Thunder Boats" racing with Pat O'Day calling the race. The badge is a bit worse for wear and a little before my time; I have some more of them...somewhere in my junk. Like a lot of kids made wooden hydro's and pulled them behind our bikes. The parade and the pirates have been tamed, and the boats lost their magic for me when the thunder part went away, gone were the Allison's and Rolls Royce Merlin's to be replaced with the turbines. Now you kids get off my lawn!
