the roof is just about finished. he still has some work on the package tray and some trim work but I think it looks amazing.

There's a lot going on to make that rear window work. I love the look and it appears to be top notch craftsmanship, just kinda surprised to see how this one is being done and curious to know how the rear window gl*** seal is going to work out.

is this going to be urethane 'up under' the roofline or is there a trick you have thought up to use a gasket--that metal work is beautiful!!

I went down to the shop on friday and started stripping paint. I am going to run the car in bare metal for a while.

This was Fridays progress. I am headed back tomorrow. To hopefully finish stripping the paint and do a little under carriage work.

  11. Love this thread, your Merc is perfect.

Beautifully executed, and in good aesthetic design. I can say I've derived lots of motivation on my Monarch from your thread!

    Looking good!!

I did take the car to the Ventura nationals and won an award for best project that was really cool. any here are a few updated pics. nothing crazy.

thanks, it's coming along super nice.

I edited my response i am buying a new windshield and man i hope the 3rd time is a charm!

post a pic of your purchase! we have talked for hours about this car and its chop. I know I am biased but it has to be one of the best chopped hardtop 52-54s around. I am very happy with how its turning out.

I know that you are going to paint it. But seeing it in the raw is killer. I would be tempted to have it sprayed in satin clear and let it ride.

I don't mind the bare metal, but it is for sure getting painted eventually. I want a finished custom.
