  1. 51 Mercury.
Still searching the turn signal flasher in my car. can not locate it. even on wiring diagram not
Anyone can give me a hint?

Turn signals are permanent on when switched on, not blinking.

    Thanks

I don't have a specific wiring diagram. It's most likely located behind the dash, inline with the signal circuit power feed wire from the ignition switch. There should be a fuse somewhere in the circuit before the flasher unit.

  3. I remember working on a 49 Merc a few years ago and if memory serves the flasher was hanging with the wire harness on the RH side of the steering column. Different year and a foggy memory, I hope this helps.

I found these diagrams online, not sure if they’re helpful.

It might just be stuffed in where you can’t easily see it, especially if someone’s been at the wiring before you.

Why not just crawl under the dash with a trouble light and take a look?

My 53 Ford I ***ume is sort of similar. Flasher relay is there it's just not what you'd expect. It looks very different than a modern one. I just followed the wires from the indicator switch until I found something. I'm going to be working on my wiring today so if I remember I'll snap a pic.

I’d have to go look out in the shop

should be close to the steering column/under dash area

I've been under the dash quote a bit lately, on my back... legs over the back of the seat with flashlights. Finally found the breakers and 2 fuses just above the parking brake. But I cannot for the life of me find the flasher. Both fuses were good, I have parking and brake lights, just no signals. Need to find that flasher

Ok, I finally found it, it was actually right above the breakers/fuses, but I was looking for a "round" style flasher and I had a rectangular flasher installed... I ***umed it was a breaker. Picked up a NF 535 flasher from Napa and all is good now. I'm only updating cause I know this post will pop up if someone else has the same problem and this will live on the Internet. The tab had broken off in the socket, I attempted to solder it back on but the relay was done. PXL_20260209_031058607.jpg PXL_20260209_033115612.jpg
