    Second on the ''Patch''
In the SE Pa & NJ area, kids were noted to yell "PATCH OUT''
My '53 Ford broke an axle in '64 going to school.
My '53 Dodge, at the same time, would churn that RR tire as long as you wished.

For a second, I thought I was reading my own post. I was 2 years old in 62 as well. Also fifth out six kids.

Growing up my three brothers and I shared a room with two sets of bunk beds. I slept in the top of one of them and yes, lots of bunk bed antics. My dad was a WW2 navy vet, that might of influenced his idea for the sleeping arrangements.

You don’t know it yet but 40 - 50 years from now you’ll be telling similar stories.
When I was young I’d listen to stories from Grandpas, uncles, and dad loved it, and I really miss them all. Cherish everyday.

  7. thats why I try to do so many things, last thing I want to remember when I'm old is "I went to work" for my entire adult life. sure work is there but its almost entirely a "side quest" as I'd best put it, not a main goal in life. I visit my family every time im able, i go on as many little adventures as i can fit into a year. theres so many older people I've talked to that just... wish they did more at my age.

  8. Hey Dan,

Hopefully one of the stories he will be telling when he is an old fart is about how he showed up at Lloydfest III to hangout & party with a bunch of Unscrupulous Hoodlums for a weekend. :p Took home a cool trophy too!!!

    God Bless

Anglia A105. I had an A100. A $25 car I drug home. My dad taught me how to pour babbit and make the bad journal round enough with laping compound and a br*** shell he machined for me. Real depression era keep it running stuff. I also learned how to rub out lacquer paint on that car. Surplus Standard Brands $2 a gallon black brushed on - 400/600/800 and hours of rubbing produced a great 30 foot paint job - hey I was 15.

  18. Depending on the time of year, I was either graduating 8th grade from Eva D. Edwards Junior High or I was a freshman at Northview High School in Covina, Ca. I had a subscription to Hot Rod Magazine, was still building model cars and was counting the days till I could get my drivers license. Oh and living the good life in Southern California in the 1960's!

Damn Vintage - that's crazy. 2 in '62. Check - 5th of 6 kids. Check - 3 brothers. Check - 2 sets of bunk beds. Check. - Top bunk. Check. That's pretty improbable. Cheers!

You followed through on your engineering degree. I started with that major but bailed.

Riding bikes with my buddies to the local Chevy store to check out the latest and greatest. Well, greatest is the word, because in the showroom was a new red on red '63 Sting Ray coupe. "Love at first sight" I believe is the phrase. They still look great.

This was my Race Car. It was destroyed in a towing accident during the summer of 1962.
