Was 42 degrees up here so decided to do a junkyard run with a buddy of mine since it's such a lovely, balmy day. Got a fold-flat seat for my Rambler along with some other trinkets and junk. My favorite dumb thing was these matchbooks I found in the glove box tray of the Rambler for a karate school, you know you're getting an authentic karate experience when you take lessons in Sheboygan Wisconsin from a guy named Jim.

A very old metal bird seed cap, a handmade hook.
The find of the day is a 1947 calender unused in the wrapper!
America was just out of the war when it was printed.

I too scored a Bakelite Dremel and matching Drill Press! I plugged it in and the Cool Ozon smell brought me back to a time when I was so little watching my dad work on stuff DSCN9092.JPG

When you buy a box-lot of stuff like this, do you tend to find that the boxes still contain new, unused parts? Or do some of them contain the old used distributor cap, rotor, or used up breaker points that were replaced with the new parts?

I pulled several boxes of spark plugs off a top shelf in my late grandfather’s shop . The boxes looked brand new never opened. I was showing them to a friend. He opened up one and it was used . All of them were . So be sure to look at everything to be sure

I picked up these cool little books this weekend. Also found 2 "earlyish" copies of Hot Rod magazine! The 1952 cover is killer for sure with them washing the car in the driveway. Paid less than $10 for everything.

Had this turn signal switch for tears because it's cool. Anyone seen one or know who made it? IMG_0104.JPG IMG_0105.JPG

^^ 394? Looks like someone chromed the power steering pump can and made a funky mount bracket for it, too. I wonder what that would have been mounted in, requiring a power steering pump that mounted vertically like that.

  23. I’ll try to find out when I pick it up.
Word is it came from a local hot rod guy and hydro guru

  25. Became the new caretaker of this belt buckle, seemed like a good sentiment as we trudge toward February. 331C1AFB-FDC8-4AE4-8B25-09E5C8D0DD71.jpeg
