    Deck the halls….sort of….

Can easily see the first p*** the deck is not square. Compared to the last rough cut.

taking 0.040”. I think I should end up somewhere around 9.75:1 without actually measuring.

Take a piece of uncoated welding rod and drop it down the head oiling holes to verify the cam bearing are in right.

Haven’t updated this in a bit, shortblock is together. Spent a few hours today getting rocker arm ***emblies ready to go!
    IMG_6194.jpeg
Didn’t take any other pictures but I pulled them apart, cleaned out the inside, put new cup plugs in the ends. Polished up the shafts in the lathe and gave the rockers a quick p*** with the hone. One side had some galling, obviously had starved for oil.

I also reground the rocker tips where they ride on the valve. Now I can put the heads on when I get some time.

I use a small drill in a pin vise to clean the oil p***ages in the rocker arms. I don't recall the size, but seem to remember there's two sizes, at least on my Desoto it was a stepped hole.

When it comes time to put it in the truck the oil pan will get modified, I have Chrysler Power script valve covers that will go on it and four bolt truck exhaust manifolds.

You might have mentioned it, but are you getting a new cam and lifters, or reground?
