I went to a Maxton ECTA race with a Saturday AM temp of 39F. I could not get a grip on the track and my oil never did heat up., but boy was that Hemi responsive!
I think cold track temps will limit some of the fastest guys early in the week, but the cool dry air will help all of the engines. I'm looking forward to spectating on Fri, predicted to be low 60s for Orlando, but high 30s early morning; however lots of sun to help heat the track surface so that may produce some real fast runs.
I haven't seen much from today yet, but i heard Finnegan ran an 8.2X @ 16X in Blasphemi. He is only caged to 8.50 so he can't turn that p*** in
Looks like there are two compe***ive g***ers, Finnegan ran 8.507 and Robby in the Disorderly Nova ran 8.598. That could be a good battle all week The overall leader ran a 6.13. https://static1.squarespace.com/sta...0/1770087424644/sickweek2026dayoneresults.pdf
Last time Finnegan did Sick Week he and David Freiberger used an OT Camaro as their vehicle for the whole thing. They lost, however at the end of it they did the charitable thing and gave said Camaro to an aspiring young racer.

Well today didn't go as planned. A cold front and rain came through early, and was supposed to be done around 8 and around 60 degrees after. I left home around 5:30 for the 1 hour 40 minute dive to the track. About an hour into the drive i hit the rain as expected. I got to the track at 7:15 and by 7:30 the rain stopped. A few cars showed up, then more rain... then more rain and wind and dropping temps. It finally stopped raining around 10:30 and the track drying started. Around 2 the sun came out and the "slow" cl***es started making p***es. Around 3:30 they said A & B group (the fast cars) would not be running for safety reasons. For me it still was better than a day at work, but I feel bad for the people who converted their cars from street to track just to wait all day to switch back. I need to download my photos and then I will start posting them
