The best part of the movie is when Christine t-bones that Camaro at the gas station. Brings a smile to my face everytime!

    The Camaro lacked an engine!

And probably a lot of other stuff too!!!
One thing I could never figure out in the beginning is when she slammed her hood and bit that poor guys hand. He was just doing his job and checking her over. I thought she was just being a **** there.

I have always liked the movie ever since the first time I saw it ,decades ago. I think my coupe may be Christine's grandmother.

“That's the last time you run that mechanical ***hole in here without an exhaust hose... I catch you doing it one time, and you're out, you understand?”

“mechanical ***hole” makes me grin. I’ve owned a few cars like that :D

    cheers,

My wife & I had both read the book, the movie came out & we caught it right away. Coming home from the movie, the new neighbors had just moved in. What was parked on the street, a red 58 2 door hardtop Plymouth. Sent chills up our spines.

Finally saw the film and I really liked it. I thought the explosions (Hollywood style) were good but I really liked the car on fire scene. Overall I really enjoyed it.

The appearance of Sam Drucker in Christine is pretty cool.

A few years back someone recreated the car just as bought from the home alone old man. There was a short video of it driving through an on dirt outdoor car show complete with all the smoke and everything, it was pretty realistic.

Had a few Will Darnell's (the garage owner) around in my formative years. One of them called me "That funny lookin' kid". I didn't appreciate the verbal ***aults then, but seeing these young guys growing up without those kinda influences shows that they had value.

Just watched the movie last night, still a good movie for a cold windy Saturday night. Will reminds me of my Grandpa in some ways.

Ol boy selling his brothers 'Christine' is Roberts Blossom. Guy had a long career, liked him as Old Man Marley in Home Alone and Doc from Escape From Alcatraz who chops off his fingers in the wood shop.

"Ya know, ya can't polish a turd". Best line in any movie.

  19. I saw that movie for the first time as an adult and I didn’t realize it was a “horror” movie – I just thought it was a very different “car” movie. But it scared the daylights out of my wife! I even bought the DVD, and watch it if when comes on TV– scares her again. Still amazed at the rebuilding scenes, considering this was real metal, not CGI.

    Hello,

By the time the movie came out, we were well beyond high school hot rods and cruising/racing. Growing up, the 57 Plymouth Fury was our most liked car at the time. After reading the Hot Rod Magazine article on the escapades of the Fury, that would make a cool teenage hot rod for my first car.

But, for some reason, a 58 Impala was sitting in the garage and we knew all about the black sedan. So, the 57 Plymouth took a back seat. It could have been my own first car as they were not out of the question as a second car. Plus, my mom was looking for a nice car that was not a racer Impala or a big giant Buick sedan. So, we actually looked at the Plymouth as “her” car. (sharing with me)

The part that troubled us as teens was that we took care of the black 58 Impala with a pristine wax detail job on a regular basis and with a third car, guess which one would have to sit outside on the gr*** backyard? So, we tried to convince our mom to drive the 58 Impala. She liked it cruising in third gear, but getting to that point was not the most fun in learning to drive a stick shift car.

So, now the third car was not going to be a 57 Plymouth hardtop, but remains a 58 Impala in the garage. Also, two other cars jammed the long gr***y backyard. A van for my brother’s surf trips and a funky flathead 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery, for me and my pocketbook. The Impala remained pristine in the garage with a C&O Stick Hydro transmission for our mom to use as she wishes…

A family of 4 now had 4 cars, but they all fit in the long backyard to the driveway… at all hours...YRMV
