Is that French Lake or ?
Sure an extra always is good.
Will they sell it outright or do you have to have a core charge?

Goose lake auto parts there in the eighties. If they have one I am sure you could just run it as is...

    Here’s a pic of what I have.
    Looks Federal.
I still need to measure the open of the tank neck.
I’ll head back into the garage after dinner and measure it. IMG_5345.jpeg

Looks like you might've rubbed on it a little, just to see......
Retirement is definitely an adjustment btw. I worked 39yrs at one gig. After a year or so, I started hauling parts for the local Napa a few days a week. More for social, than economic reasons. Enjoyed the hell out of it, but my back finally said 'enough' after 10yrs.
You'll find your groove, then you'll be sailin'!

    Coupe's lookin' good too btw!

Cob, have you filled it with fluid and ran the engine enough to see where it’s leaking from? May just be a hose spraying?

    Not yet.
Like I said, I'm in the infancies / beginning, and based on previous owner information / leaks / what's new etc..
I was told - was started periodically during that time but not driven as the front suspension and brakes rebuilt during that time.

I have a tendency of gathering info on the usual suspects after sitting 8 years.
As in the past with other projects I've had that sat for years ( 68 AMX sat for 18 years as an example),
Fuel ( tank/ fuel pump/ PS / spark / brakes are the focus).

If I have one Power Steering line leaking, I'm doing both. If one seal on the PS tank leaking, I'm doing all the seals or buying a new unit.
Fuel pump is a $25.00 no brainer.

Better to do now, than on the stuck on the side of the road.

Engine / Trans / Rear ends are different, as I'm not replacing them if I don't have to.
I might do a pan gasket replacement on them as they are easy to get to on a lift.
Internal seals are a different story. Let's hope an internal seal...****** as an example is minimal.

Very good revival list, @corncobcoupe !

Well, another slippery slope is auto transmission. I say this not to be the whisper in your ear, CCC, but for anyone following along who is using this as a revival outline. :)
Dipstick tube seal and shifter seal. First is usually simple, second requires dropping the valve body unless things are really easy. A couple parts that are probably under 5 bucks and good to do while the pan is off.
Speedo adapter O-ring is a whenever, front and rear seals require dis***embly of varying degrees. Cooler lines and fittings can be dealt with as needed, Vent can be checked as clear if accessible, but probably not in an A (tight unibody tunnel).
Move the 'kick down' through full range to ensure no stickiness and good clearance.
Last, as in any old car, look for shoddy repairs/fixes in the area.
Oh, and the rear mount if it's been leaking is probably soft or broken.
    That ought to cover it!:D

Set them on the hub for a quick pic.
I need to clean them up and light ghost chrome silver in a few surface spots.

    I’m updating tires.
    Looking at…..
    225-70-14 for the rear
    195-70-14 for the front.
Undecided on white letter tires or just black walls.
I am going to paint the hubs cast blast.

As expected the lug nut diameter in the small bolt pattern Vintage Cragar’s is really tight (a tad too tight ) as it could cause stripping tightening up.

So I’m going to ream the mag lug nut hole a 32nd, or 16th, just enough so they have clearance to tighten down.

Change of plans on the Mags lug nut holes after chatting with @Moriarity.

Going to wrap the OD of the lug nut or a deep socket with Emory cloth or lighter grit sandpaper and hand turn to take off hole ID scale / corrosion.

Not removing material, more polishing to reduce any lug nut turning resistance.

I'll go out on a limb here, but I suspect the early Saginaw ps pump will bolt up to your motor as long as there are bolt holes cast into the head (I don't remember when Mopar started casting the bolt holes in the heads), and you use the Saginaw pump mounting brackets. The Saginaw brackets bolt to the head, and to the two up and down water pump bolts, if the Saginaw pump has a different end on the ps pressure hose, you will need the correct hose also. The Saginaw pump will probably not bolt up using the Federal mounting brackets, the pumps are vastly different in shape.

As a whole, Mopar designed hang on things like ps pumps as a direct fit using the new pump's mounting brackets and accessories. When a part manufacturer change was made, Mopar required the new parts to be able to be bolted on as a direct change over on the ***embly line most of the time. They would use up the existing old inventory until it was gone, then bolt on the new line of parts on the next vehicle on the ***embly line (different plants had different amounts of inventory, hence a change over "year" instead of on a specific date). Chrysler did not wait until the change in the model year to make a parts "upgrade" unless a production line change over was not practical (like no bolt holes cast into the heads).

About those front tires, I don't think you meant you were using 195-70- 24 tires, probably more like 195- 70-14 tires. You stated you were using the "24" tires on the other thread too.

    Thanks Gene.
I actually bought a Federal Power Steering rebuild kit this morning so using all the original brackets etc.
    The hoses purchase pending.
Thanks for pointing my fat fingered front tire size error.
I corrected that post for the front to 195-70-14

    Ok plan B……
    Up-grading from 14” to 15 x 6 front and 15 x 7 rears as I have a nice set of 15” tires.

Should get them Thursday or Friday.

Looking forward to warmer weather into the weekend and next week in the mid 40’s / low 50’s to work the buffer.
