What's wrong with a chopped top? Didn't Ohio George's Willys have one after he put the Cammer in it?

 

What I have read in the rules say no body modifications.
Not that I will be running in the SEGA but if a chopped top it is under their decision if it would p***.

 

James your car may be chopped but it’s not a bonneville chop more of a beauty chop and yes there were gas cl*** cars that had chopped tops Ohio George is one of them the grist brothers ran a chopped 40 Willy’s coupe however I think it makes a difference on what time frame you are talking about originally they had to be liscened insured and street drivable cars but as time went on the rules changed a lot in today’s world it won’t matter except maybe southeast g***ers and unless you are competing for money it doesn’t matter there are about 9 people who would actually care in the world at the events you and I attend regularly it won’t matter that your top is chopped or your motor is back 2” to much

 

James, the chop on your car is SOOOOO SUBTLE that most people won't even realize that it's chopped. I'd stick with the G***er theme... It just fit's! JMO

Make some louvered panels to fill in the rest of the sides.

Personally, I think you were on the right track before, just needed a slight drop in the axle and a little more engine set back.

 

Good thing is I haven't done anything that would need to be undone at this point playing with this different idea.

Full fenders , my preference......I know its a task....one piece tilt fibergl*** ..Itchy *** endeavor....

 

Really nice work so far! I like the stance! I'd personally not make the side panels as it's losing the g***er appearance with them. I didn't even use the stock side panels on my '39 Chev g***er as I prefer the open sides.
I also toss those wimpy front shackles most springs and axle kits come with and make my own thicker, and sturdier shackles on all the straight axle swaps I do.
Always amazed me how much different Pontiac and Buick frames were compared to the same years on Chevys!
