I saw this all over other sites but not here. HAMBer Andy Volpini, @OL 55 got a special invite into the fat fender section of the show.. His 40 Ford and his Ford truck were in the new edition of Rodder's Journal. I got to take this quick little video at our local cruise in. If you get to that area, take a few to look at this road warrior.
Here's another HAMBer's '40 on move-in day at the GNRS in the Fat Fender display (Bldg.9). I don't want to intrude on his privacy, so he can identify himself if he wants ...
Here's another HAMBer's car that was in the Fat Fendered display this year. Tony Miller's (RIP) '40 custom, built by fellow HAMBer, Don Dillard. There was a small tight-knit gang of us that hung out in our own 'Social Group' on here until we were unceremoniously discarded unto the trash heap of history. Out of our ten members, four of them were celebrated and honored in that building!!!
Irontrap Garage's video this week is from the GNRS, they were hanging out with Lucky and Piero and got some good shots from the show as well as a few open houses.
I felt that Ryan detailed quite clearly why they were removed. Would a ceremony make you less bitter?
..Yes he did but, we lost years of great information both historical and technical and no, a ceremony isn't needed.
He did. Nobody said anything about being "bitter" though, at least not that I'm aware of. A few pretty popular guys on here that are in their eighties and even older were understandably disappointed. Life goes on. No need for drama.
Andy's car looked great as always. My shop, Gray's Garage Hot Rods in Sanford, Michigan built one of the 9 AMBR Contenders this year. I haven't been active on the HAMB much lately, but this car might be of interest to some on the board. .
