Definitely, I was thinking when setting these that i wish i had used cage nuts instead, just looks a little less aftermarket.. but i didnt want to have to spot weld em and these are easily replaceable. I still might swap some out.
I was waiting on some material to show up yesterday so i finished this little mirror mount i had already started a while back when testing out a taper on the lathe for a different part I needed to make. I save all my screw ups or test material for this exact situation, the tapered piece made for the perfect size stem for a mirror. Machined the other pieces from stainless and welded and blended them all together
This weekend i'm hoping i can finish the metal work on the dash, and i'm looking forward to sharing cause i think its coming out pretty cool.
Man, how is this thread 8 pages long and I'm just now seeing it? You, my friend are doing some spectacular work. I'm subscribed and eager to see your next steps.
I decided to be responsible and work a little extra yesterday to prepare for a show this coming weekend to make this week a little easier on myself so the dash will have to wait. I’ll be a featured guest again this year at The David Mann Chopperfest in Ventura if anyone needs something to do next Saturday the 7th!
