I could be wrong, but pretty sure the only pictures that disappeared are the ones that may have been hosted by somewhere other than the HAMB. I know that photobucket as an example kidnapped lots of pics at some point and held them for ransom. I also know that the majority of pics that I have posted at least back to 10-15 years ago are all still here.

    Hello,

Yes, that may be the case on most accounts. Those idiots did a number on a lot of unsuspecting folks. So, store your own photos on your own hard drive of the desktop computer or laptop. But, you don't want to get too full on your own hard drive copying photos and saving them. As small as most internet photos are, they still take up space. so, your normal 500 GB stock hard drive is going to fill up fast.

That means slower computer speeds, regardless of how much it is built up with the top quality performance parts. A blown SBC motor is powerful, but if it is overloaded with a heavy car or additional "stuff," then why have the power in the first place? My computer knowledgeable son told me that over half of the hard drive filled up is going to start slowing your computer and/or laptop down.

I have experienced it on my home computer. Digitized films edited to short detailed films cut from the original ones are nice to show the hot rod/drag race cars in detail. So, those added to the original copies of the whole digitized films takes up a lot of extra space. That space is fine, but when you notice your laptop or home computer slowing down or taking more time to change screens or locations, then it is getting slow.

Yes, your computer will still work until you fill up your home computer hard drive. When you get close, a red notice of "your hard drive only has 100gb left..." or something to that nature. So, you will need to take some action. Also, don't change the file folder name of your photos.

If you place a photo online, it needs access to that file. If you change the name of the file or place it in a different spot, sometimes the online site gets confused and gives a red X on the posted photos. (early on the HAMB, I noticed several photos with a red x. They were still on my files, but I had moved them to a different folder with more detail in description. That caused the HAMB engine to question the original location of the photo)

Those outside photo companies did a good service to most computer users that did not want to clog up their own computers with "stuff." So, storage is fine. But, try to get the photos out of some storage groups is like finding gold in the Santa Ana River flowing to the ocean. Be warned.

The Photobucket folks did a number on all accounts and paid the price. So, the answer is to spend a little to get an external hard drive for your files. They are simple to use, keep the original computer hard drive under half full and still have instant access to all files. Start off with a 1TB hard drive and you might last a couple of years.

I have gone through plenty of external hard drives due to adding tons of family photos from my wife's files and constant phone photos. Yes, hers are saved in the Apple Cloud, but we still have use for instant call up on a specific date or time. So a home hard drive gets the call to store all of those photos.
We have since moved on to 2 TB drives, 4TB drives and now we just purchased a 6 TB drive for our final extra storage place. A safety deposit box.

    Note:
So, if we are gone, our son has access to all safety deposit files, which will include a 6tb external hard drive, the size of an expensive cigarette pack. It is all ready to access with the most current files we have. That way, our lives and history will be preserved for our family files. Then we are the memories... YRMV

Having trouble uploading newer photos. Error file too big.
Car is currently stripped down. Bodywork almost done. Wet sanding. Getting ready to start painting.

One ask is that you also hit “full image” when you post so that the pics show up full size. Neat car.

I figured out how to resize an image on my iPhone to make it smaller. Gotta love YouTube.

A year ago I decided to pull the windshield and back gl*** because water leaks were wrecking the floor. Well it escalated. Im more well equipped now than 10 years ago so I have been able to follow through on this car.
I got overwhelmed on the other Buick along with some life happening and quit on it. Im ok with all that. Having a few of these cars now proved to be a huge help in finishing this car. Now I have a big selection of parts to choose from.
This car was much worse than the other car. As far as rust repair. I could have just taken the perfect body from the other car and I would have saved a lot of work. But then this body would have ended up getting cut up or s****ped. so i decided to just do all the metal work and keep the other body for a future project. (Can never have enough Buicks)
I did rob the doors and inner fenders from the other car because they were already blasted and primed. Saves some time.
Here’s where I found out a majority of the back of the car was bondo had to redo driver and p***enger side.

The roof was caved in like something heavy was set on it or maybe ppl were dancing on it. I had a few days of m***aging out somewhere around 15-20 dents and creases. There was a smile kind of crease looking at me every couple inches down the side and around the back. It looks good now.

Here’s where I left the doors about 10 years ago. Thought they were pretty flat then. Got em flatter yet! They’re in 320 right now I don’t feel like wet sanding them just yet. IMG_6234.jpeg IMG_6235.jpeg IMG_6259-1.jpeg IMG_6280.jpeg IMG_6284.jpeg IMG_6283.jpeg IMG_6358.jpeg

Here’s how it looks as of today. Roof and quarters are wet sanded. im trying to focus on getting the roof painted and then I can paint the floors, a pillar b pillar, quarters.
then I’ll start painting all the individual body parts and bolting them back on. im hoping to drive the car this summer but its ok if i dont. I’ve waited this long.
