Been there done that. I would hope he has doctors that are as good as mine are. I always liked him in any of his roles, of course the yellow coupe made his fame C'mon Paul take those exercises. Take those drugs,
All the best to Paul and his family. He played the role of John Milner so well. He was an instant hero in my young mind when I first saw American Grafitti.
Seems like Paul's road of life hasn't been a very smooth one since way back on Paradise Road. Here's hoping that a full recovery is ahead for him. His portrayal of Milner made such a lasting impression on so many of us. Thoughts and prayers out to you, Sir. Hope you know how many of us care.....Don.
I have seen on FB , he has had some visitors and looked happy. Hope he can shake this, his health has not been good for some time. He is a very kind, cool guy.
Hope his doctors can tune him up enough for another race on Paradise Road. He will Always the Cool Cat in that Yellow Coupe, Prayers!
I could never understand why Paul did not do as well as the others in the movie AG. He did a great job with the role of John Milner and even served in the Navy completing a tour in Vietnam. I think that he even flew the Marlin seaplane. In my book and I don't know a lot about actors or drama, but old Paul is in the same playing field as James Dean and his car in the movie is a lot neater. Best of luck, take your meds, do what the doctor's say, and keep your hands of of the nurses behinds.
Could be that people so identified him in that roll and many still do = the John Milner isn't doing well rather than Paul Lemat that they never accepted him in another roll. Side note: a few years back when both my mom and her long time companion were still alive we were watching some talk show and a famous actor came on the show and was announced with his given or chosen name and they had a fit and said the announcer was wrong because his name was _______ from a long running TV show that he had starred in. When she was in her 90's she only wanted to binge watch reruns of that blood and guts show.
I like Paul so I am going to try to say this gently... Paul has a little tendency to be bitter about things, to see them one way and to be very vocal about it. He has made a stink more than once about how he feels he was owed something he didnt get and the result was many of his costars from AG pulling back from him. When they did he made a stink about them too. Hollyweird is a very political place. You have to kiss the right ****s and if you are percieved to be a liability due to the lack of filter then you had better a mega star with a huge following that they just cant stifle. Sadly, Paul has never been that. He is however a great actor and a decent writer/author. I sincerely hope he pulls through!
The cast were regulars at NSRA Western Regional meets. Got several signatures on my VHS. Just the minor actors of course, the big stars couldn't stoop to that!
He's really a great guy,.. And would really appreciate all your prayers. He's also struggling financially,.. He's an author who has written several books available on Amazon. So if you, or someone you know is a reader, you might want to consider buying one, or a set.
