Kudo's to the Chavic's for being different. There's a lot of unique and well executed details on that roadster. Thanks for posting all these pictures.

Alright then, @Blues4U if you won't mention the moment of the show then I will. I had introduced myself to you and we were standing in front of your pickup discussing the mods you had made recently. This hoodlum walks up and says to his buddy, "It's great to see that the 283 I installed when I built this is still in place." I blurted out, "The pickup's builder is right there." You guys started talking and you got to hear the original build story of the truck from the original builder. Since he traded it to the guy you bought if from - there seemingly had been no contact until this years' GNRS. Seemed like an awesome moment to me.

Not officially part of the GNRS, but I thought you guys might enjoy this too, the So Cal Speed Shop open house held on Thursday before the event at the fairplex.

Yep, Jesse I think he said his name was. I had texted with him some time back and he sent me pics of it. Note I traded for it too, my old Chevelle. It was good to meet you Paul and your brother. Hope you guys enjoyed your trip.

Funny how hard it is to get the straight story. From Jesse not knowing who you were to his telling the story of the car like it was the first time he told it - I *** umed you hadn't communicated prior. Great to meet you and chat it up. That's my favorite part of the GNRS. Sure the cars are mind-blowing but having a legit conversation IRL is food for the soul. Thanks for the time spent and sharing hundreds of photos. Much appreciated.

So what are those tail lights that follow the curve of an T tail that well?
Either they are going to become popular or they were fabricated!

Thanks @Blues4U. I'll probably never get to that show, and I appreciate your time to post it up. I was thinking the Suede Palace was the only reason to go, but the fat fendered cars are great! I didn't know about that aspect of the show.

Thanks for the kind words guys, I appreciate it.

@1pickup each year they have a theme for that building. One year it was a Model A collection. This year it was fat fendered hot rods.

Great story behind this survivor hot rod. Built and shown in the 50's it's been sitting in a garage in Colorado Springs for decades. The owner/builder p***ed and the car ended up with the new caretaker who has brought it back to life, fixed up a few things but didn't change it from what it was, left the originality intact. The paint is from '57 or '59 as I recall him saying. Just a beautiful old car and a great example of a HAMB era hot rod. Congrats to Axle and the Suede Palace crew for getting this car into the show. This is the kind of stuff that makes the show so great. I hope the photos do it justice. Enjoy! 26. @Blues4U pictures are always so thorough, it feels like the only thing I missed by not going was hot dog on a stick. Thanks again for the coverage Blues.
