I need new tires before spring. The radial WW that are on the car still have the nubs on them, but are 30 years old. So only good for a museum car, not a driver. I need to decide if the car will look better with a new set of radial WW, or a new set of black walls. So please chime in, which way would you go.
I can't believe that this is even a question after you saw the difference that going from blackwalls (ho hum) to whitewalls (yay!) made on your other car????
If you were running some type of chrome wheels the blackwalls would work. As your car looks now, putting blackwalls on it will make it look like the low optioned cars that dealers sold to keep the price down. Go with the whitewalls.
White walls on your car...however, not every car looks best with whitewalls. Like mentioned, blackwalls for HotRods, whitewalls for Customs.
Whew…glad this got resolved! I can’t imagine that car with blackwalls…well, at least until @Johnny Gee helped us out.
^^^ If that 40 was mine, (not likely) the wheels would come off quick and the tires would get reversed. I see that I'm 99.9 percent disagreed with. Back to my motorcycles on this issue. I once saw WWW on a bike, couldn't get it outa my mind.
Whitewalls for sure but it didn't seem all that long ago that blackwalls would be a cheaper. WWW have always been pricey but with our daily drivers no longer on 15" wheels, blackwalls have become collector car items.
I ran black walls and steel wheels on all my cars because I liked the look and didn't care what others thought
Also, we expect you to wear out this next set of whitewalls instead of like the previous owner that let them get old with no miles on them.
