Sorry to bug you guys again, but as I'd stated in my other post, I'm looking at buying a fresh rebuilt 59/60 394. It was rebuilt in the 90's and sat inside since. I've seen pictures of the engine and it looks great, and pictures of the rebuild specs from machine shop. It pretty much just a stock rebuild, with flat top pistons nd nothing exciting. What I'm wondering is if anyone can identify the pistons by their part number. ...709P-30. I've searched the web with out any luck. And I'm pretty sure the 30 is for the oversize. And does anyone think I should be concerned about anything with a 90's rebuild. Yes I'll be cleaning it up, with new ***embly lube if I buy it.
can't help ya with the part number/manufacturer if it was put together and stored right it should be good to go but if it were me I'd tear it down, clean, inspect and re***emble to be sure.
if you are wanting to add more power, with your cam etc, you might consider having your number 23 heads gone through and use them on the '60 short block
708P sounds like a Federal Mogul/Sterling piston part number. Just a factory style replacement piston.
