No deal has been made yet. It’s basically a big mess as far as trying to get the stuff bought. But, my goal is still to get this pickup done before anything else no matter how the Model A deal turns out. The Model A purchase is more to probably sell the majority of the stuff to help me finish projects I already have. We all know I don’t need any more projects. However, I think there are enough pieces to put together a 30/31 roadster that might be worth putting back.

So, since I know some are wondering about the Model A's, I heard back from the lady last night and seems we need to start loading cars and parts Saturday morning because all this stuff needs moved in the next week or so. This was quite a mess, but should turn out ok in the end. That is still yet to be determined since there is still a day between now and when we start loading stuff. The situation is that a property which included a house, shop and contents were sold as a bank sale to a couple investors from out of state. This house is in a pretty decent neighborhood and I ***ume they were just wanting to make some money. So, they contacted the ladies I have been dealing with to have them do a big total purchase of all contents of the property including all the Model A's as well as probably 40 or 50 other vehicles in the back yard. Then, the owners had the power turned on in the house and something apparently shorted out and burned the place down with no one living there. Anyway, the house and all its contents was a complete loss and all these Model A's were stacked around the house but survived with no damage. So, that made even a bigger mess of what already started out a big job. So, I went there yesterday as mentioned and tried to look through all the stuff. In the end, I decided to go in half and half with one of my best friends on this deal since it is more than I should probably try to tackle by myself. We bought all this to sell to help support this bad habit of ours. So, what I think we bought is a real solid 28/29 phaeton, a solid 30/31 Vicky, a pretty decent 30/31 tudor, a 30/31 1-1/2 ton truck, two 28/29 sport coupes, a 30/31 coupe body, the back half of a tudor that I haven't tried to figure out what year yet, the back half of a couple roadsters, multiple frames, a couple pickup beds, more fenders and hoods than I have ever seen in one place, a 32-34 pickup cab, and misc. other cool stuff including a 33 grille, etc. More to come, but suspect some of this stuff will show up here in the cl***ifieds, will be at LSRU in the swap meet, maybe at Pate swap meet, Duncan swap meet, etc. Here are just a few pics to give an idea of how much stuff I am talking about. It's going to be a long weekend of hauling stuff. I will say that I felt kind of like I was part of American Pickers yesterday digging through lots of junk and walking on stuff that wasn't very stable at times to get to stuff.

Well after reading the post and seeing the pictures, I double down on my previous comment! :D
Good luck to both of you in digging it all out and hauling it home. I would seriously consider hockey shin guards and a tet**** shot. There is going to be blood somewhere, somehow.
Lace up your boots, cinch up your weight belt and have extra gloves and lots of liquids on hand.

I went to a show last summer with some bad *** square bodies. Posted some pics, not sure if you saw um Jeff.

  10. Today will be one of the few times I am glad we DON'T live closer together Jeff:p

That looks like it would be a blast & I would have had to volunteer to help just to see all the stuff & that would lead to a lot higher level of pain than I am already in after laying on top of my LS over the last couple days!LOL . Rooting around in old junkyards & places like where you are going is one part of the hobby I used to do every other week & miss it a lot!

    God Bless

Wow, that's great! Hopefully you'll be able to get those parts in the hands of people that need them to get their cars back on the road instead of languishing like they have. Congratulations on the score!

Agreed. As much as I would like to keep a lot of this stuff for myself, I would much rather see this stuff in circulation and being put either back on the road or used to help guys like us get stuff on the road. If I were to keep a lot of it, it would continue to sit. We don't plan to get rich off this stuff and would much rather see folks get fair deals and make some great new friends along the way as we p*** stuff on.

...if you get a chance, can you snap some pics of the other cars?
...If I were closer, I'd bring my truck n trailer to help.
    good luck.

I’ll try Sam. And, I’ll say again if this actually works out, it will be a miracle. Was rushing around this afternoon to head that way and found out the lawyer is waiting on some signature or something like that?!?! If I end up in jail over this deal, anyone want to come bail me out? Lol  I hope I am joking…. This is almost as good as paying bail money for a 40 Merc and nearly getting bitten by a couple copperhead snakes getting it out of the jungle it was in. It’s never boring in my world…

    I’m working on the pickup tonight… :)

The one I am supposed to be discussing here. Lol

Or, maybe not since it is off-topic and the A’s are on-topic on the HAMB?!?! I’m having a hard time keeping up.

Oh so you don’t have to take all of the cars? Is there anything desirable in the 40-50 others?

Yes, several trucks like the one this thread is about but LWB’s.

Another turn of events…. I apparently misunderstood that the signature needed is from a judge that won’t be back in office until Monday. :( So, we are going in the morning to try to hide the good stuff that we are supposed to get and scope out the rest of the vehicles. You can’t make this **** up!

If you happen to run across a 35 ford coupe right rear fender….jus sayin :)

Seems to be a lot of shortening LWB pickups these days

Oh, and 3 or 4 64-66 Tbirds, and a late 50’s jaguar, and a few Ford pickups from the 80’s, etc. I’ll report back on that tomorrow.

...so the investors bought the place cheap, insured it for a bunch, then it burns to the ground .?
maybe not,...I sure hope it works out for you and your buddy,..be neat to see what goodies you end up with.

The new adventure sounds like something I would have been involved with 30 years ago. It was fun back then, just looking at it makes me hurt now.
Be careful of the critters you may encounter, they may not like being disturbed from their long time homes at this time of the year.
Years ago, I got involved with a much smaller deal then this. Everyone was in a hurry to get the place cleaned up, before a Judge got involved. Then everything stopped for 3-4 months. Once the Judge made the decision, the mad rush was back on, and we had 2 weeks to get it done. At that time, I was working 60 hours a week! Good thing I had reliable friends that got involved to help.

Good luck with this project, if it even happens.
