Thought I would post some pictures of a bomber seat that I made from stainless steel.

I PM'ed 3WLARRY and ***US a while back to get some info on their original seats. Both you guys were quick to answer and told me exactly what I needed to know. Thanks again for the info.

Here is the almost final result. I still need to make some reinforcement pieces to go across the bottom and one across the back at the top. Of course then I have to make another complete seat :(

It's 24 gauge stainless steel with a 3/16 wire beaded edge. I am pretty pleased with the way it turned out. It's a little wavier than I would like but for a first attempt in turned out pretty good. I hope the next one will be a little better.

I made some pictures of the process and plan on doing a tech post but I will have to wait untill I make the other seat since I didn't get pictures of everything. Will probably be a couple of weeks I need to make a longer set of tongs for my spot welder so the next seat will be a little better.

May be a better place than this to get them, but this is where I got mine.

Very nice work. Now build another one with a bigger hole in the middle and it'd make the perfect reading chair for the outhouse . . .

I'm impressed...damn fine job. Look at these pics of an original, and see how he nailed it!

I'll bet it took a LOT of hours to build...and at $40+ per hour, you can see why it costs a couple thousand dollars to run these seats, unless you find a bargain somewhere.

  21. 11 years I've had this welding business...
11 years I've not given too much thought about buying a bead roller...
    Today, I'm gonna start looking.

    Nice work, man. Pretty inspiring.

That's so wrong. Yet strangely, if that's wrong I don't want to be right!

    Sealed Power,
That seat is incredible. I'm not sure what you weren't happy with.
