I'm still working on the poster (maybe shirt art) for this year's Stray Kat 500.

IMG_3823.jpeg Not sure if this the right place for my question?
I have this photo of my Grandfather, uncle and dads race boat taken sometime in the 50s. I would like someone who is good at manipulating photos to clean this up. Color enhancements sharper image etc. I would ship the photo to someone and pay for services if interested PM me.

    Hello,
The photo needs to be taken out of the frame as the reflection is not possible to get out of the image. The color is not bad, but reflection is not part of the original photo. The last thing is perhaps it is a double exposure photo?

You will have to take it out of the frame to see if it will clear up the image. If it is a reflection, then take a digital photo and repost it to this thread. Then perhaps there is a possibility to get the image "clearer."

The digital photo has to be straight on top, shooting down, with no light reflection. Or sideways on a table top with no angle or hand held, in case there is movement. YRMV

    Thank you,
I’ll do that when I get home, funny I took a pic of it with a dusty gl*** and no reflections that’ll teach me to clean things lol

    Happy (FAS) to you all.

So recently I bought an HP 5" touch screen, film scan, slide scanner. Its a pretty cool unit. So I have been going through a lot of my older slides that I haven't seen in years.

For years I had a side hustle as a T-Shirt merchant and would do some crazy stuff that is pure insanity by today's standards.

I was a terrible freehand artist but I could get the image I wanted via photography, and then for some special people, and certainly not for m*** production, I would do some custom hand painted shirts.

The image would be projected onto the shirt, and then painstakingly use a fine tip sharpie pen, and draw the lines in, and then use" DEKA" water base fabric paint, and fill in the area's.

Here are a few shots of what hand painted shirt's looks like, from 35 years ago!
    Enjoy from Dennis.

Couldn’t get a good photo last night with artificial light. Took a few this morning under natural light. There is some damage on the original.
    Thank you

    Hello,
We have all had that glare from the sides that gets into the finished photo. It might be from fast loading of the original film in the old camera and partially exposed. When I loaded a film strip fast, sometimes it had a flare on the sides. Then, I started using the black, light tight bag with the camera and film strip ready inside in the dark. so, the last photos were not exposed to the sneaky light in the back of the Sedan Delivery.

I took your photo and cleaned up a lot of "dust motes." Then adjusted the washed out color, but it was difficult to get the flare along the left side to go away, without losing the color. This is done with a simple photo program that most folks have on their home computers or laptops. Try it on your own to see how you can adjust it to suit your needs.

T******* some of the old photo makes it a lot cleaner and centered on the speed boat.

Remember, it is an old photo, probably taken with a box “Brownie” camera, with a not so fast lens. So, any stop action shot that is somewhat clear is how the old photos came out. It is not as clear as a 35mm good film camera or a digital camera, these days… YRMV

I’m thinking of renaming this piece and finally painting it in honor of Ed Iskenderian.
“White Knuckle Ride” would be re***led as “Isky’s Legacy”

Rest in Peace Ed, thanks for your service and impact on American automotive culture!

Older pen and ink line drawings, one of an A&P mechanic working on a Pratt and Whitney 1830 radial engine, and one of my old 41 GMC K-18 Army truck that I had in high school.

I really like "White knuckle ride". The glimpse of the hill on the right makes it. Myself and a good friend lived that stuff when I was a kid in Dubuque Iowa (a very hilly town). We were both AJ Foyt in our heads. Thanks Mark.
