Resent “brand new” purchase are flat faced but still not 100% like originals.

 

^^^^^^ Many of us told you to go with the caps and steelies.

 

..A question that I've asked myself a thousand times. The original Cragar SS wheels were a cl***ic look, made almost any car look better, the newer version looks terrible...IMHO.

 

I found the size difference many years ago the hard way. At a swap meet I bought a set of four and discovered when I got home that two were different size.

 

The earlier Crager "round spokes" weren't very popular for very long here in the Northeast...they appeared to start rusting even before they came out of the box.

 

While they're legendary and important I don't really care for Cragars. Some cars wake up into **** star status with em, but generally I put in the same room as smoothie chrome wheels. I let em drive with that big fat cheapo wood rim steering wheel too. You know the ones, always on sale or closeout.

That said, but already sorted, I knew immediately they were BVD centers because...

Johnny, those look great in your picture, but I think they look a little different at different angles. Could there have been three different patterns?

 

Hey Jack, some of those did rust like hell, even in Missouri. I had a friend that had them on a beautiful 55 Chevy, bought them brand new around 1981. It sat in a damp shed all winter and they come out ruined.
