  5. I can now confirm the car will be at the PRI show. We will be in the Racing Junk area. They have a prime double wide double deep corner. They will have the calender girls on hand along with a big screen showing my racing videos. A invitation like this comes along once in a lifetime. This is a huge deal. It's a lot of work but the rewards are very much worth it. More on that later.

  9. We do two kinds of testing. The first is let's make sure it runs. We check for leaks; set timing; set the Bruno fluid level; open the filter for inspection etc. at this point the car is not race ready but close.
Today with a temp of a balmy 50 degrees the final testing was done. We get full heat in the engine. The Bruno/lenco is tested. The covers come off for a re torque on the heads. The higher block temp makes the lash go big. It's good for 7-10 thousandths increase in lash. The pan will come off. We do this to check bearings and retorqe the mains. The pan will get washed out. On a fresh build there is always shiny glitter in the pan. This comes from that sharp edges of a fresh hone. It also comes from the edge of the bearings.
Staying up on the maintainance prevents tradgeties and saves money. We have two months to fix a problem if something occurred. I don't want to find it in Texas.
The other benefit to shop testing is the crew guys go over starting procedures. They also get hands on time servicing the car after a long winter. As the shop fills up with the funky yellow haze from the nitro it gets everyone exited PXL_20260215_190846839.jpg PXL_20260215_190256540.jpg PXL_20260215_221934914.MP.jpg From the looks of the shop floor I figure we are good. Cool update :)

I'm not sure if the fumes would kill all the spiders in the shop, or turn them into angry mutants addicted to the engine noise :D

    Cheers,

This is a really cool gesture, and will likely turn that kid into a car-guy (if not a rodder) for life.

    Cheers,

What an awesome gesture. If you want to PM me, this cl*** is done in three weeks.

If you are in @racer-x i will buy a shirt for
    Myself and cover the shipping!

  20. More servicing today. The pan came off for inspection and cleaning. It looked perfect. The generator in the trailer was serviced. I took care of the nhra paper work to upgrade by license to a advanced et. PXL_20260218_194648125.MP.jpg It will all come together by April.

One day I hope to see this car in person and meet Brian.

  22. I picked up the paperwork and shipping items from the post office. I will be shipping the shirts Saturday. I'm surprised when they said 2-3 weeks to deliver them.

  23. now the focus has shifted to getting things ready to take the car on the road. there are so many details to attend to. gas jugs for the generator were filled. The golf carts oil was changed. The in car radios were charged and checked out. the shelves in the trailer were cleaned and organised. Inventory on the fuel jugs. batteries for the tools were charged. the bathroom and shower were cleaned. i found a home for the Bruno cooler. i just need to secure it to the wall. the fire extinguishers were returned to the golf cart. The crew shirts were laundered. The fire safety equipment was checked and cleaned. This is just a partial list. it takes alot of planning to send this operation down the road.

  24. It's done. I'm going to pick it up today. John Shephard has been doing all of my pin striping; gold leaf etc for over 35 years. Screenshot_20260223-114319.png Screenshot_20260223-114347.png

So, instead of a brain bucket, it's a Brian bucket. I know, I'm an idiot.
