Hello,

My brother and I were fortunate that we just happened to be at one of the first visits of the famed speed sport modified roadster to So Cal. It was 1959 and the place was the historic Riverside Raceway.

We got there at the 8:00 am opening and it was one of the longest days in our drag racing history. But, it was well worth the effort. We saw some amazing drag racers from all over the USA that traveled to the West coast dragstrip to race against the best in the West.

The old HAMB posts best explain the historic drag race weekend. It was the largest gathering of top racers in drag race history at the time. I recorded as much filming as I could and all of the film cannisters were used up in the process.
