It was in the 70s all afternoon, we got to explore the new car. If the weather is making you feel some malaise, blame it on me.

The temps here have been on the rise all week! Made it to 53 today. Suppose to be in the low 60s through Tues, then the temps bounce up and down between 38 and 60 for highs over the next 10 day forecast.

Its a month too early for these temps to stay, I think we are being set up. But I going to enjoy it while it lasts.

Today I cleaned the knee deep snow off and around the car trailer in anticipation of using it to take the Henry J to the indoor car show in a couple weeks. Hopefully we get good weather for that, long range forecast says 40 with a chance of ice/snow mix.
I'm still sick of it !

In Tucson it will go over 110 occasionally. Where I live at higher elevation, maybe a week over 100. But it's also really dry, so it's comfortable for me.

It gets hot down here, and there are lots of bitey things that will take a piece out of you. Having said that, I am grateful that I never have to shovel the sunshine out of my driveway.

    Cheers,

If more then a 1/2" - 3/4" of the white sunshine lands on my driveway, I get the snowblower out. This old man isn't into shoveling too much. My driveway is 19' wide x 88' long and I have over 100' of 4' wide sidewalk here. 100_0756.JPG 100_0757.JPG

Dan, these two pictures were taken about this time of the year, a couple years ago. Its too late for me to mow the lawn now. LOL! I'm usually the 1st guy to mow on the entire block, once a week is all I'm mowing (45 minutes on a 48" cut zero turn mower).
That lawn on the right side of the last picture belongs to the guy across the street, he always needs to mow his lawn! That little patch you see is actually the angle of the grade of the guys lawn on that corner. Once the grade reaches about 5' high, his lawn is pretty much level.
Those pine trees are on my yard and are 75' west of my driveway, the pines are also 20' east of the dead end street on the west side of my property. 100_0758.JPG
For perspective, this is the view (looking north) of the dead end street on the west side of my property (those black marks on the street are the same marks in the last picture from my post before).
The white building on the right side of the street does not belong to me. That building is 40' wide and 100' long (the width runs north and south). Another reference point, that white building as 10' side walls under the roof. The property the building sits on and 12" of the land along the south side, and 12" of the land along the east side of building was all removed from the original tract of the property I own, 20 years before I bought it. Beyond the end of the dead end street, has a 20' drop off to a pair of railroad tracks (originally 4 sets of tracks, 2 have been removed). What is seen beyond the dead end is more then 100' beyond my back property line, across the track right of way, and a river, and is actually not with in the city limits, like my property is. The property lines go from the curb (on the east/west street on the right of the picture) 175' back to the railroad right of way. The rear edge of the white building ends in line with the west side of my garage. The remaining east side of my back yard (roughly 120' wide west to the east) still extends north to the railroad right of way. The city has to remove the snow on the dad end street because of the white building. The whits stuff you see on the street is the city salt dump so the plow trucks an get back up the dead end street grade. The street surface drops about 15' over a 120' length.
The truck on the driveway is my 49 Dodge, before the blue paint. That means these pictures were taken over the winter of 22/23, the only winter the truck was on the road and not blue.

That one takes me back… to the start of my back problems! Skidoo’s, last one was a 1973 Free Air twin. Fast for its time, dog sled slow now. I’d like to ride a new sled, but afraid I’d get hooked on them again. And I’m just too scared of how fast they are now

Last Sunday we got to 64 degrees! Right now, at 2 in the afternoon, the thermometer says its 55 degrees outside. Tomorrow the high is suppose to be 42 degrees, with a chance of heavy wet snow tomorrow night! This coming Sunday, the high is suppose to be 29 degrees. These temperature swings are more typical of March weather, not mid Feb.
If you don't like the weather here, just wait a couple of days, it might be entirely different.

35 and cloudy... probable rain in a bit.

We were in Freeport NY yesterday, they got more snow than by us. The sidewalks are barely p***able in the business district.

Snow is predicted for Sunday and Monday

I can't complain any more. We have had pretty good weather for a couple weeks now. It did cool off some this morning and was back below freezing a tad, but weather has definitely been pretty decent for February once we got past the week or so of snow and highs that were below freezing.

    Hello,

We have had a week or so of rainy weather along the West coast. There are other parts that actually got snow. So, it is cold out west. But, after this past week's worth of rain stopped, it should be high 60s and mid 70s for awhile. There are several storms still brewing up North and farther out in the ocean. Those usually curl up and hit north of San Francisco, so, we in So Cal get sunny weather along the coastline. The local mountains did get some snow.

    upload_2026-2-20_5-6-43.png
The systems are moving East and as they p*** the Rockies, the rain turns to snow. Then as it goes farther East, sometimes it joins a Northern storm from Canada and causes more rain/snow for the Midwest and farther into the Eastern shoreline.

    Jnaki

Although there is a big blob of green in the storm track radar map, that blob will go into Northern California and then head East. We in So Cal should be back to sunny days and blue skies as well as low 70s temperatures.

Finally... we are heading into spring... then... Summer weather... YRMV

Woke up to 6 - 8 inches of snow. I guess I got spoiled with the 40 50 degree weather we had.

Yesterday was 39 and rainy all day. Today so far 33 and dark... lol.

Snow starting possibly tonight into Monday. I'm g***ing up the cars, doing some constructive driveway parking, bringing my snow shovels inside my foyer. I will top off the snowblower gas.

The neighbor, her 40 something son and his 2 kids and I were out in front of the house playing in the snow today. The pile in front of my house is about 8 feet tall after yesterday and last nights snow. The two kids 9 and 7 were having a blast riding a plastic sled down the back side of the mound and out on the lawn. Me, I stayed outside until my **** felt like that picture above… the others were out there for an hour or so more. The joys of being a kid…

My neighbor next door made sone big wooden boxes up, waxed the inside and us and his kids made igloo blocks out of packed snow. This was around 1964.

The igloo was a work of art. With a fire in the middle to roast marshmallows.

Back to now... 34 F and we will get a ship-load of snow later on.
