My brother and I built a T bucket in 1977. Drove to Columbus Street rod Nationals in 1978. Then it got sold. Fast forward to Bonneville 2024. Walking the car show at the Nugget, I spy this vintage T bucket. As I walk around it something looks familiar. The Pin stripes. I think to myself as I walk to the rear " That's the kind of pin stripes I used to do." Then I see the tail gate and I realize it is my brothers car. Same paint, but new engine, all these years later. Finally caught up with the new owner. Great fun filling him in on the history. My brother still had a copy of HOTROD magazine with a picture of the car at the Nationals. He sent that to him.

I’m a big T Bucket fan, and that is one of the nicest ones I have ever seen. I’m very happy for you that you got it back.

Super glad for you! And as far as your kids they won't have to be the kids that say, "man I wish Dad hadn't sold off that awesome T!"

Congrats! Do you have any pictures of the brand new Sid Chavers interior? Did Darryl make any other changes to the exterior? Maybe its just the photos, but the paint looks like it has more gloss than I remember. Wasn't it in black primer before?

Great looking T, and a great story, glad it is home again. If you study that side shot it sits perfectly, frame is parallel to the ground, no rake, if I ever build a T it will be a clone of this one.

Your T is iconic. I´ve always admired it and hadn´t caught that it had been sold. Glad you got it back and Mr. Hollenbeck was so nice to fix it up for you, hahaha:D Can´t be any better!

First Hot Rod was a 39 Ford. Deluxe coupe with a nailhead. Last I knew it was piled in the corner of s farm shop in Central Nebraska?
