I asked Ryan what he thought before I did this and his exact words were Hell Yes. Do it. I think it would be sharp as heck to post any Decals /T Shirts/Ads/Cartoons /Videos/or Parts that you have. I have some parts from Isky but that’s hard to show when they are inside an engine etc. I have all the adds from magazines but I really wonder how many versions there are. Post it if you got it.
Seen a lot of T shirts and Decals for sale on line. I am scared that some of them aren’t legit. Id love to buy up one of everything I see but how can you tell.
I’ve already shown the 1962 NHRA Nationals Isky cammed Cl*** Winners poster that I sent to Ed to sign so I won’t show it here again. This is the shirt that was part of the swag he sent back as his thank you, that was a poster they hadn’t seen in years and didn’t have so he was happy to be able to have it reproduced.
I have some vintage water decals and a signed dedication to Charley Kozen dated 5/10/56 on a photo from Bill von Esser's speed shop.
First Ad in the local Drag News Weekly in 1955. Lion’s Dragstrip opened in October of 1955. Hello, There were a lot of ads for local hot rod parts and accessories from some old names in drag racing. But one of the first Isky Cams ad was one that showed the drag race/hot rod world, who was running those cams in the racing events. Ernie Hashim, Joe Itow’s Willys Coupe in the Gas Coupe/Sedan cl***, Jim "Jazzy” Nelson’s record setting Fiat Coupe and Jack Ewell’s Dragster. Then the following year, 1956, The ads for the World Records for a OHV motor Hemi and Jazzy Nelson’s Flathead Altered were prominent. Jnaki It was a time when our local Reath Automotive was in its infancy, but opened at their first corner hot rod/speed shop with a drag race influence at 10th and Cherry Avenue. Plus, the partnership of Joe Reath and Joe Mailliard was still going strong. Their partnership started at Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach. Then, of course, they split up and Joe Mailliard moved to the Westside of Long Beach and opened up his first shop at 1410 Cota Ave. Mickey Thompson bought the shop when Joe Mailliard moved to downtown Long Beach in 1959-60. Note: Isky started in Culver City, then finally ended up in Gardena, where he has been since 1966. A true So Cal icon. Back before I had my driver's license, I sent a letter to Isky Cams requesting info (and decals) as I was really interested in performance engines, parts etc. I received 12 page book on Cam degreeing, published in 1970, and a couple of stickers. One of them is still on the toolbox I carry on road trips, and had also used when working on plant shutdowns.
