  2. Finally got my intake gaskets, intake bolts, and distributor from summit, they went from Ohio, to Arizona, then Kentucky! At least they got to see some warm weather i guess. The .120 thick gaskets were the trick. Now we wait on the ice to melt off the lot and car. 20260201_113753.jpg 20260201_113806.jpg

    Lloyd,

I'm really liking that green color on your engine. It might look equally good on the nailhead that'll be going into my '31 Model A sedan.

Mind to let us in on the actual color name and/or code?

  4. It's from painthuffer.com, it's called challenger green. They have a bunch of cool colors. And this one covers good.

Looks super there, Big Daddy! Is that a GM intake or a Victor?

That intake needs to be polished to a high luster.

My guess is that @Moriarity won't be on board with the distributor:cool:

  16. Probably not. Summit was sure proud of it though. I'm not looking for approval, just gotta spank Bill's *** ;)

  19. For this coming year, the Muncie has to stay. If I want to get some of the other ones done, I can't put any more money into Stubby (especially this year after Christmas:p). The new hogshead/gear is it except for maybe new rear "sticky's"!
The wheelie bars are welded on, so I hope they don't break! LMAO:eek:

  20. Yeah, while that little car is bending the wheelie bars, I'll be gone! :p:D we'll have to start figuring out when this "grudge" race is gonna take place

  21. Well the car is in the shop, for an engine swap. But one of my old buddies stopped by today to hang out, he asked about my car. When I told him about swapping engines, he asked why. So we started it up. He said oh, I hear that. And it immediately faded away. He asked what I thought it was, and I said wrist pin. He disagreed. He said every wrist pin noise he's ever heard, came in after it warmed up. My noise goes away after about 20 seconds. If you shut it down for a while, and start it again, the noise comes back, then goes away. So we all came to an agreement that I have a lifter issue. I put a quart of atf in it and let it run for a bit. Noise is gone. I'm wondering if I have a lifter losing its prime. I might not be changing engines... 20260219_171524.jpg

I’ve got one that show’s its noisy self often. Been like that for a long time on the blue & white 56.

  24. The guy that works for me crawled all over the car today. With a piece of heater hose stuck to his ear. We just stood there scratching our heads. He said there's no noise from the headers down. Honestly I have my fingers crossed. I'm gonna swing by the parts store in the morning and get oil and a filter. Put some 20W50 in it. Guess we'll see what happens. Might take it out for a drive.

Piston slap? When the piston warms and expands the noise goes away….

Running that weight of oil made my issue worse. Staying at 30W made things much better.
