  1. That 51 Buick is a 52. The chrome fins on the rear quarters was 1952 only, the rest of the car was identical to 1951’s.

That looks nice, but all the little bits are going to be a lot of work.

Those are good trucks, much overlooked. The bed was way deeper than Chevy or Ford. My dad and I moved all our worldly goods from Texas to California in one in 1959. It was pulling the biggest U-Haul the had with the pickup itself overloaded. Dad had built a new 230 flathead six for the move. I turned 14 on that trip.

There was a short panel version of one of these in a field a few doors down from my folks place a few years ago. Being a panel and in exceptional condition for being outside, I was mildly interested and kept watch for a For Sale sign. I’ve always thought those were kinda homely compared to the other ‘50s trucks but maybe it could look ok as a parts chaser/tow vehicle. It just disappeared during The Great Covid Incarceration here in Ca.
Oh yeah, it was a hideous yellow color, another reason why I didn’t jump on it.

My son drove a 1955 Dodge panel truck his junior and senior year of high school. We put a 360 4 bbl, with a 727 auto trans in it, it was a pretty quick little van. It was school bus yellow when he bought it, his buddies all ways called it his school bus, he hated that. By the end of his senior year it was white with stripping on it.

I agree with you. If I want to sell a car I will go out of my way to make it look as good as possible. I guess some people just don't give a ****.

It also applies to those who leave a ton of junk inside

I used to buy a Buch of stuff off of Craigslist, but now can’t search beyond my own state with the app. Anyone have tips for broader searches other than entering key cities one-by-one?

Yes, use Search Tempest. Lots of variables you can adjust to widen or narrow your search...

SearchTempest: Search all of Facebook Marketplace, craigslist & more
