ok, a few new pictures of the dodge. i welded up the headers the other day. that turned out to be as much fun as i expected. minimal.

last weekend, we made the top panels for it, lots of fun there. lots of tig welding too. wasnt too bad though, i enjoyed it.

today we made the panel for the back. turned out real nice. few flanges here and there, lots of shrinking, and a little stretching to fix some shrinking. turned out real good though. i think i am going to bob off the frame where the body ends in the back, but i dont know which would be better.

so whatcha guys think of it?

Are you going to be building the corners from scratch or do you have originals? That will be a real challenge if you build them out of flat stock. If you do it that way be sure to post some pictures of the process.

i will be making them out of 18gauge. i think its going to be a tough one, but it should work out fine. i usually dont take time to stop for pictures, but when they are done, i can do a step by step on it. going to be a lot of shrinking, probably a few pie cuts in there too.

the fronts are as shown. 6.50-16 whites on the wide 5 ford lug. for the rear, i have the same style tire, but im having a heck of a time finding two wheels in a 4.5 pattern in 16" for a good price. eventually id like to run something wider on the back, but im going to use what i have for now.

Why not just find a set of 15" Ford centers and a pair of 16" rims and have a set made up. Most places that cater to dirt trackers can do that kind of stuff.

    wow, looks great

could you possibly tear cab corners off a 50s pickup and make them work? bottom or top?

    keep up the great work

thats a good thought. i might take a look this weekend and see whats around. it would make things a little easier, but i dont think it will be too bad. id like to keep them one piece also, keep the welding down to a minimum. but ill look and see.

I can ask my bro. radical56chevy on here if he has the back section. I gave hime two 29 Dodge sedans and he cut one up, the other one is looking like yours. He live in Longmont Colo.
