I've known Joe for years and mourn his p***ing. When I was a reporter at the Kansas City Business Journal I wrote a funky front page feature story about his movie replica cars, including the Delorean. He was a fun guy. His dad owned Pace Automotive Supply on Truman Road, if I recall correctly. I bought a lot of my '29 Model A parts from him back in 1968-69. It was my first car and Joe's dad gave me lots of guidance and encouragement. I was delighted to return the favor in writing about his son's achievements. Thanks for the heads up on Joe's p***ing.
It was Joe's Uncle who owned "Pace's Auto Supply" Also cool fact is there is a cool adverti*****t of "Pace's Auto supply" on the back of the original K.C.T.A guide book. I bought a lot of model A parts from there also. Good times man. I remember when the batman movie with Michael Keeten came out, we were at a Kansas city Buffet and Joe and most of the guys from the Body Shop were talking about Doing the "Bat Mobile" but that was around the time of his divorce and I think that is what killed that idea from ever happening. After he closed the Body Shop he did a lot of cool stuff at home as well. I do not have a pic of the 60's Hot rod "T" he redone that he Bought from "Lance's auto Investments" But it is really cool.
