These popped up on marketplace, never seen anything like them. Can’t say that I love them but they sure are unique.
Repro Chevy from a vendor that didn’t have permission to use the proper logo. Probably from the 50’s.
J.C. Whitney sold hubcaps like that, as well as replacement grilles with symbols in place of the manufacturer's name.
There's been a few discussions about those aftermarket hubcaps in the past with some pictures. The Ford ones are funny, they have made up letters that kind of look like F O R D from a distance, but up close are nonsense. I think they've been attributed to a specific manufacturer but I can't recall their name.
I have a 32 Ford fake cap with just an “F” instead of Ford written on it, and a 41 Ford fake cap with a French curve on it instead of the Ford logo. Both of them have the proper stamped shape in the steel just like the fake Chevys at the top of the thread.
