    Don’t think I’ve ever seen early drags film that shows so much of what was going on outside of the runs like this clip does. Very cool!

    IMG_1455.jpeg Fantastic! Dig the heavily hammered Deuce sedan @ 3:52.That area was in the boonies back then and must have been a thrill to participate there. IIRC, the strip was of 3000' length. It's a post-war subdivision now.
    Photo is 1953. Can anyone I.D. the 33 & 40 Ford team or some of the other cars? Yellow 27 is the Bean Bandits. I've seen the orange/black 33 before and seem to recall it hails from the LA area (Leslie & Kentz?). Behind that is the Chrisman Brothers car.

    First time there in 1956 with my dad. The Piston Pounders club was formed in 1958 and we were members of the SDTA.
