A couple of new ones. I've had lacked inspiration for years until I started doodling on photos of 'bad' sketches on my phone whenever I was bored. Unlike pens and paper the phone is always nearby, and digital sketches can be edited infinitely. One downside is that I haven't seen them on a bigger screen yet...

Old cars are like gold when one finds a different model to make into a hot rod or custom car. But, the bad part is, how rare is the old car in its current stage and how available are the parts needed to make it into a cool hot rod or custom? Back then an old car was difficult to get going into a hot rod or fast teenage cruiser/daily driver to school.

In high school, we all liked cars that ran. That was the first item of importance. Then we made it run better, with more speed parts, multiple carburetors, roller cams and kits, as well as head work/headers. So, what was available made it satisfying for us.

How about doing body work? Most teenagers had afterschool jobs, so a running car was necessary. But, the small repair or modifications could be done on the weekends. Unless, other teenage activities took over the fast pace life afterschool and at night.

So, in working with a friend’s 1950 Pontiac Sedan, it was going to be hard to make into a fast hot rod. Finding a rare old car could have had great results with our ever fascinating designs we liked, but were unable to do just on the weekends. Those old cars were there, but the time it took to get it into a custom hot rod that did not interfere with the normal teenage lifestyle was difficult.

When seeing other teenagers cruising around in their cars, one just could not justify any hot rod sitting in the backyard getting body work, repairing parts and just taking up most of the available cruising time...YRMV

We did have lives other than just cruising in hot rods. Drag racing was part of it, but so was spending hot sunny days at the beach visiting with friends. That drew us away from our nighttime activities, but expanded our cruising range from just “our Bixby Knolls” area to the farther beach communities.

At our school, we had all sorts of teenage activities. Those that did not have a job usually gathered at the Teen Center for some fun activities. Others, just liked the continuation of the teenage communications and had the opportunity to gather outside of school cl***rooms. The teenagers that surfed liked it as an early morning activity and on weekends, since we were a short distance to the waves. But, as it worked out, most just left it alone after high school. Althoough, some of us kept on for the last 50 years of fun activity.

10? maybe I'm missing two

 

I had someone from a local club that saw the RPU I did, and they wanted "My Style" of work for their show poster too. A '41 Merc. Has a custom front facia that they wanted to de-emphasize.
I'll be dropping this one into an existing poster. This is an old school club that likes hand drawn art. He brought over a sample that someone had done with AI (NOT Adobe Illustrator) and the club didn't like it. There are still particular buyers in the world!

Thanks @rusty1 for keeping everyone on the lookout for those little alien guys! We look forward to the artwork and the weekly search! I count 13 today! For last Sunday's image I count six, plus a grumpy face on the chimney pipe!

I counted 11 and I did it 3 times. Rusty please tell us the true number before we all go blind trying to find the missing little critters. And a big thanks to all the contributors!!!

 

...ok, I drew them lil ******s, and I get 13, sometimes I can't find em all.

 

PHOTOCHOP 1

 

PHOTOCHOP 2 ... this one is a "squish chop". I didn't cut it up and paste it back together, I just squished the top. that's why the windshield is slanted back. This method also "sections" (flattens) the roof above the rain gutter.
