I did not want to get this involved with this lid but it deserves it. I will add to the previous hackery 20260106_172505.jpg 20260106_172521.jpg 20260106_200522.jpg 20260106_205031.jpg

Involved, indeed... however, if you had not decided to resurrect this lid, it would most likely have ended up on a s**** heap.

I find with my project I am more involved all the time then I ever wanted to be or imagined testing my lack of skills. Your lid is looking good and you are getting it done. Saving it working with what you have.

Rumble lid triangle pieces and parts need some attention. These chunks must have come from a channeled car at one time 20260113_203534.jpg 20260113_203549.jpg 20260113_211242.jpg 20260113_211738.jpg

I moved the brackets in board and finish welded everything before wire wheeling and painting. New cover gasket too.
    Onto upper shock mounts, got most of it fabbed up. IMG-20260210-WA0000.jpeg 20260211_155450.jpg 20260213_153412.jpg 20260217_164414.jpg 20260217_165631.jpg 20260217_201540.jpg 20260217_201549.jpg 20260217_201608.jpg 20260217_201536.jpg

    Still working like a caveman but getting decent results I think. 20260301_142737.jpg IMG-20260301-WA0000.jpeg 20260301_154542.jpg 20260301_161824.jpg 20260301_194652.jpg
More to do, it's bulky and guffey looking but it'll do the job

  19. Who are you kidding, you’ve been kinda liking this thing since the moment you brought it home!

It’s really coming along nicely. Labor of love, awesome to follow your progress!

  20. Let’s see, build plan, check, vehicle, check, engine, pending, rear axle, check, front axle, check, wheels, check, tires, check, seats, check, seatbelts, double check, badges? You don’ need no stinking badges. Carry on.

I've spent a lot of time looking at the trunk floor. This week I started welding pieces in. 20260315_183349.jpg 20260315_183355.jpg 20260315_183403.jpg 20260316_173506.jpg 20260316_173513.jpg

Cut out the remnants of the old triangle support. Cut, fit, and welded the new one 20260318_162940.jpg 20260318_162945.jpg 20260318_163437.jpg 20260318_192845.jpg 20260318_201008.jpg 20260318_201015.jpg

I've struggled with this trunk area because the rumble lid ties into the triangle pieces and the lid swings down so we need clearance there, it has tobeclose. Small gains everyday

    I welded the p***enger side in. Driver's side needs more trunk gutter before I can zip it in. 20260319_192606.jpg 20260319_202356.jpg 20260319_202405.jpg 20260319_202410.jpg 20260319_202419.jpg 20260319_202432.jpg 20260319_202932.jpg
