Wow, nice one! Love the dual updraft carbs. Those dual updraft intakes are hard to find

Nice score Lars - I too love the duel updraft carbs and that funky gas line - keep the fenders

That's a nice start, I have a couple of comments, you said the compression ratio is 7 to 1 which is a little strong if it's still a babbitted engine. I had a B motor in my 30 pickup with a Winfield head and knocked the babbitt out of the rods twice but ran it hard at times. Had an A motor with a 6 to 1 head and ran it for almost 20 years with no problems. both had down draft intakes with Holley 94's and Mallory distributors. I building a 29 roadster pickup now with an A motor with a 5.5 to 1 head, Burns intake with a Holley 94 and an old Mallory dual point but at the moment it's a stalled project due to my wife's health problems.
Your coupe is a Special Coupe, Ford built them as the Standard Coupe in the last half of 28 and first half of 29, I've had two of them. The tan 28 was a flathead V8 powered car and the 29 gray coupe is basically a stocker which I still have. Bangers are a lot of fun but they really are 50-55 mph cars without an overdrive, three of the five Model A's I've had have been bangers and the other two were flathead V8's, still have the stock 29, 30 Sport Coupe and the unfinished Roadster Pickup.

Its 7.5 to 1. crazy head on a stock engine.
I know its a special coupe but i really believed them to have a bigger opening in the rear window wall. This is steel like normal coupe. Maybe i have seen wrong on others. I was thinkin special had way more wood than this have.

My plan is to enjoy it as is while collecting parts for a v8 swap i think.

Those carbs will be changed to one downdraft i think.

I looked at your coupe rear window and my 29 and agree the back window in it looks larger, there are three steel panels in the back of the body supported by wood but it's been a long time so I'm going off memory, did the gray coupe in 1985 to 1989 and the tan coupe in 1993. I went to Ford Wood and based on their drawings the wood at the belt line was used on the Special coupe but not on the standard coupe, you also have the stringer that attaches to the back top bow from the rail above the rear window. I can't say for sure after looking at your coupe but attached the drawings.

great coupe, a friend had an 8:1 head on his Babbitted A for 20 years, has only gone to 7:1 because the original head developed too many cracks. He punts it pretty hard on the road & track.
