Turning 80 this summer and probably not doing any more extended trips in my 40 but I’ve been fortunate enough in the last 13 years average over 6000 miles a year in the 6 or so months we get to drive them here in the Midwest, During this time we’ve seen much of the country having traveled through 30 some states and attending events and runs in 17 of them over the years.
My memory bank is full of the sights we have enjoyed along with all of those we shared these years with and many of those we met along the way. Drive your cars!,:)

  10. Don't give in to age!!! Turned 89 in Jan. Still plan on another trip or so. I have not driven as much as you as mi wife needed health care. BUT at 86 I drove to Tacoma and back, clocking over 4500 mi. The next year to central Iowa, with about 3600.

Worked at Northern Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep in Cut Bank as a tech back in 01-03 LOL....made that drive every Monday to Friday. Not bad until it was -30 and the wind blowing 70 mph. Nothing but wind power generators between Shelby and Cut Bank now.

Did you ever meet the guy in Cut Bank who had a collection of 50's and 60's Pontiacs. His dad had once been the Pontiac dealer in Cut Bank

Whenever non-car people ask about the old cars I drive, I always tell them the best part of owning them is driving them!

When I was working for a living I used to tell folks that if they paid me better I might could afford a new car because all I’ve ever driven was oldies :D

I did, can't remember his name now. I actually bought a block and heads off him. If you get back over this way, feel free to PM me. Always down to meet other car guys.

  24. Just in case there's any doubt after seeing the pics in this thread, I'll throw out a few more to prove we drive 'em.

All of mine get driven all summer, not just for car events, The first one is my ‘65 Barracuda in the rain. Second is my wife and youngest in my ‘64 Chrysler and the last is me in the ‘57 Fargo, notice the bugs in the windshield.

Some cars I've seen in the wild, not on the way to car shows or anything....oddly most were at Ace hardware.
