Don't think so, but there was one way back that may have been inspired by this...it was a Studebaker I think...

I think that's a wild one and pre war at that...

The special bodywork of this little Bugatti seems to be directly inspired by the large Renault 40CV designed to break speed records in 1924. Surprising but not uninteresting!

  6. Wonder if that little Brescia Bugatti survived with its home-made body. Heres a 1923 Brescia project rolling ch***is that fetched 113 thousand British Pounds at auction in 2023.
As a matter of interest the big Renault sedan in the background looks like its being dismantled as the interior ceiling is allready torn and hanging down and the Marchal headlights are gone. That Renault sedan these days in that condition is worth no more than a mouse infested Model A Fordor barn-find basket-case.

...this is the front of the image @anthony myrick shared...the Black one also shared above is obviously inspired by its European cousin...as I would suspect the Studebaker also was and also shared within in this Thread...there's Threads also on the Hamb specific to the Stude and Black one...

...one of the things I love about snooping around is finding dots that connect potential influencers to Hotrod...this is a Renault with 35 NY plates and besides seeing European cars as influencers the immigration of people skewed what was done in go fast...

Non Homogenized weren't always rough around the edges...as would Homogenized Hotrods have not all been spot on perfect...

But if you read the original post it does elude similarities...AI can be as questionable as human opinions...

This is quite the beast...and being 1924 the Golden Submarine is 1917...did this look come from Europe or vice versa...Peugeot is mentioned with the G/Sub engine...I recall a Bugatti...no a Auburn/Cord that looked like the Submarine too...

I guess the Stude the Black one and that one Anthony shared are all post 24 so likely inspired by that Renault you shared...

To me the term "cookie cutter" hits most of it. Malvina Reynolds was singing about a housing development south of San Francisco but it could have been a bunch of street rods at a Good Guys show. That said if every '32 Ford roadster in the world was a black highboy with a flathead under a full hood and had painted steel wheels with big & littles they would all be right.

That is nice! Good to see someone keep the parallel leaf springs rather than Fordicate it. It comes with challenges.

Prewar El Mirage?...Shared by one of our own years ago...I will find out who...

Paging @Jimmy B...is this in fact El Mirage...I see a building in the background but understand theses lakes had military connections as well...any idea what we're seeing here...thanks in advance...;)

The fella that shared the pic I can't locate...he hasn't been on since 2019 or so...

The tarp over the car almost looks modern...but hey guess they're a heckuva lot older an idea than one would think...

The A Coupe hangin' tire is period 1961...
