That's a pretty impressive pile of bricks for an old service station and body shop!

  7. Mount Gambier , South Australia . Chevrolet, Holden, Oldsmobile showroom with the pumps under the forecourt flat roof. All the cars pictured are first model Holden, 1947/48. The showroom and forecourt is still there but now a drive-in bottle/booze shop belonging to the hotel seen to the left.

  9. Just the one single pump/bowser ( right corner of photo ) in the main street of tiny town of ****atoo in the Dandenong Ranges, Victoria, Australia. Not much has changed there . Railway signals are for the antique "Puffing Billy" tourist steam train that goes through the rain forrest . Yes, hanging out the side of the open carriages has allways been part of the fun :D

If that's a true Bowser brand pump it was very likely built here in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I think at some point they also had factories in other countries. But the S.F. Bowser company was founded and had its headquarters building here. I used to regularly drive past their HQ building but it has since been repurposed and then razed several years ago.

The word Bowser is used in general to describe any pump no matter what the actual manufacturer was, its like the name Jeep, i see two pumps. Cool photo. JW

Robert Benjamin Kluna and Ollie Kluna. They had the first drive thru liquor store in Waller County history just off of old business Hwy 290. Texas.
