Here's one that's a little different. There's my 28 Mercury Torpedo Salon parked 20 to 30 years ago on a trip to Bonneville. on the road up to the "Angles Ladies" legal *****house in Nevada. They had their own strip (plane and girls). It has been closed for a few years and looked out-of-business the last time I drived by. They had charter flights from Las Vegas -- a non-legal county. Now the engines had been s****ped and graffitied.

We stay every year in Ely in White County, where it's still legal. Bonneville Week often is the same with the salt and Ely usually has a big City Park right downtown. One year we wandered over to see what's going on and we got great Screw Drivers (no pun intended) for just $5 from the Lions {or was it Kewianas (sp)?}. The girls had their booth and invited us to join them later (Not). We stay at the 5-story Hotel Nevada, the tallest building in Nevada (1918?) for $80 a night and that includes breakfast. Yes, it's 90 or so miles from the salt but the trip is beautiful and goes by fast -- all the time having had a good time and saving 100s of dollars getting screwed in Wendover. You can usually see wild horses along the way and the view of the salt as you crest the mountains is spectacular.

it is happening everywhere (here in Aussie)
they do not want you having cash anymore, all tap and go etc
in the 70s I worked in a mining town up country where you got paid in cash
50 Bank staff on hand , today maybe 10
In a Bank last week I asked a Bank Teller for $1000, he said go outside to ATM and make a withdrawal
told him I needed $1000 bills and ATM does not give them out only $50s
thats OK he said bring the $50s in and I will give you $100s
    todays new world

With in a year, they sold it off to one of the big guys.
