A friend is feeding my addiction lol . He found this at an antique store, sent me a picture and I asked him to buy it for me lol
Careful man, he might be a dealer. It starts out small - a dwell meter here, a condensor tester to take the edge off a weekend. It gets worse, and soon you're wanting something heavier, with an oscilloscope. It goes downhill fast, and the demons inside make you NEED, not just WANT, a distributor testing machine and Sun Motor Tester setup with eight or nine gauges. You learn what a vacuum tube really does. At it's worst, the garage is full and you are still online hunting down instruction manuals for stuff that turns on and hums but doesn't seem to work. You get worried about the sniffer doggies at the post office and airport who are trained to look for you, having been taught to smell that heady mix of ozone, bakelite and magic smoke. I can quit any time. I've just got a few local-made Vane testers to remember the fun years. I know the 50's era headlight aimer is in the house, but it's just for show... besides, I can't find instructions for it. I know there are meetings I can go to, but they just turn out to be swap meets. Cheers, Harv
About to pick this thing up in a few days for a song. Im going to snag a few parts off it and part out the rest.
Got a few more things weekend for the A and 57. Plus here are the pics from my last haul. Not pictured are the stock steel wheel wheels I got-I pick them up next weekend.
I finally got a transformer for the neon sign I bought last year. The photo is kind of washed out, the sign is very red.
From an old friends Ford Parts collection. What are they called, what do they do, would anyone need them?
yup circuit breaker for the headlights and resister for the ignition https://www.earlyfordv8.org/forum/viewmessages.cfm?forum=18&topic=1941
Found a box with Space age rearview mirrors this one is by Joma Jomet. The goal is to sell all the unwanted things to fund the purchase of a TIG Welder. Bob
Eight Flathead rods and SEVEN JAHNS Pistons 3 5/16. Are the early or late ones. They'll need a new home. Bob
Bob the rods are early floater type. The bore diameter measurement would determine the year or a part number like 21A which would be the rod for a 2 inch diameter rod journal. The wrist pin location to the top outer edge of the piston would help determine what crank stroke they are from. Ron
A friend of mine was throwing out an old wooden console radio. Was too beat up and missing pieces for me to want to adopt the whole thing, but I loved this dial face piece so I grabbed it. Not sure what it could be used for but it doesn't take up much space so I'll let it lay around in case a use for it comes up.
I had an ad in the wanted section for this intake for my woodie and @dylan60 hooked me up!! I’m gonna take it to Advanced Plating to get it polished out and have a bunch of stuff for the build chromed. Eventually I’ll be starting a thread on how to destroy a perfectly good woodie
Went to a memorabilia swap today, miscellaneous race car photos, magazines, models, diecasts, etc. Pretty much got skunked but this 8x10 of Brandy’s Chariot wasn’t bad for 25 cents.
maybe 25 or so years ago there was a guy that vended at the kkoa leadsleds swap meet that was trying to sell the front fenders from Brandy's chariot... 400 bucks if I remember correctly
3x3 photo of the swine hunt dune buggy show car that Revell had built to tour the show circuit to promote their line of deals wheels model kits. There were 4 full size cars built and my 57 is one of them
